If you are thinking of going to Stoneybeck Inn Nr Penrith, i was told today that they are about to start building a function room on the end of the pub, which is in the field where the camping and caravans are.

I don't know how true it is or when they are due to start but it might be worth a phone call to see for sure, before you plan anything definate.

Depends how big it will be though ?

Still plenty of room for camping though as its a big site ?

Alternative there is always park foot camp site at pooley bridge which is huge with its own on site bar/club/showers/toilets etc etc

I was told it was a function room to cater for 300 people, which he it is, it will go with a fair chunk of field i'd have thought.

I have a blue Fabia vrs, my wife drives it most of the time though, very rare i get chance to get behind the wheel.

mmm that pub up by penrith is certainly a possibility for a short notice try... depends on how many are interested.... doesn't seem to be alot of definate interest for that weekend... keep posting up it you are interested 7th Aug....

at the weekend, I'm gonna pop down to the site me gilly postmanpat ect stayed at 2 years ago, and see if we can have the bottom field... if we can I'll start a proper thread with a list of people and put some dates in the title...

im just as an interest for that date at moment dave as it will involve me taking a day off work due to my shifts and the closer it gets the less likely ill get it.

Cheers we looking for two places for august (last week when im off) and i would love to go back to the lakes soon. With swmbo's boss not allowing her to take any weekends off apart from when her rota gives her the weekend off we kinda stuff.

I'll keep an eye on this

I have the third week off in Aug, I'll look at the poss of friday 21st and sat 22nd as well

depending on when this goes ahead i might be an interested party! don't need much of an excuse to head to the lakes!

21st and 22nd sound ok to me if it all works out, might perhaps come straight from work.
