is this the sign of things to come?

i went out tuesday lunch time to show a few work mates what a skoda can do... but... the passanger window decidede to brake! my mate wound it down, but it wouldnt wind wind back up!! I took it back to skoda, who nicely raplaced the motor. Ho hum... teething troubles???? :(

Just one of those small annoying niggles, like everything new (not just cars) some things break in the 1st few weeks. Hopefully will be fine from now.

I guess its to be expected... I`d imagine most new cars have some niggly little faults....

my red Fab has got an intermittent indicator issue, sometimes after centering the stork the indicators flash a couple of extra times. Its so intermittent that I know if I take it back it wont play up, so I`m just waiting for it to get worse (or better!)

Andy...it's supposed to do that! 3 flashes after you've centalised the stalk.

Something to do with German regs.

NO really? it doesnt do it all the time... and my GF's 1.4 Fabia never does it....

can anyone else confirm this, I`m not convinced

Only does it on the later models. 04 reg onwards I think? Should do it every time though , not intermittently.

Flick the indicators on briefly and it should flash 3 times every time.

hmmmm maybe mine is still playing up then, say I have the indicators on for 10 flashes, then center I will get 2/3 extra.... will have to have a play and make sure (should really get round to reading the owners manual I guess!)

No that doesn't sound right Andy. After you've pushed the stalk down fully..ie locked, when you resume to off position, it should stop flashing immediatley. The 3 flash facility should only work when you've only pushed the stalk into the..how do you describe it?....quick flash mode..sounds rude that! In other words a 'light' flick that you'd use for overtaking.

Hope I've described that well enough!

What reg is your Fabia?

edit..no that's wrong..It should flash 3 times regardless of which position you move the stalk into..fully or flick. Just tried it on mine. If you let it flash just once it will continue to flash 3 times, even in the off position. If you let it flash twice or more it will stop immediately. Hope that makes sense!

Andy...is it possible that when you're centering it you're pushing it up into the opposite "quick flash position"? Hence it's doing the extra three flicks.

Can remember struggling with the controls of a Vectra which kept doing that...couldn't turn the damn indicators off...

Rob.

yeah that makes sense... I need to go out at lunch so will give it a go

the VRS is an 04 plate, but its a late 04, August delivery to the UK (the 1.4 is an 02 plate)

Your's WILL have the facility then. As you say, have a little play with it  at dinner time!

The girlfriends won't.

Yes I hope you enjoyed playing with your stalk!

First time I found this I thought I'd left the indicators on... so I flicked them left, and it did the same thing, flicked them right, then left, then right, then left, then right...

...you get the idea. I'm sure the guy behind me wondered what I was up to!

when my gf first drove the VRS she did the whole left then right then left etc thing too!!

hmmmm i`m not too sure what going on now tho.... the three flash thing definately works all the time... so maybe I am imagining a fault... will keep testing and see, atleast I didnt go to my dealer and ask them to fix it under warranty!! I`d look a right muppet :P
