BBS CV 18" Wheels

Featured Replies

I am thinking of buying a set of BBS CV 18" wheels for my RS. I have a choice of 2 offsets one being 37et and the other 48et. Also they are 18"X 7.5".

Which offset do you think would suit best?

What do you think of the BBS CV in general?

Thanks

In theory ET 48 would be the correct offset for your car.

BBS CV are quite nice looking wheels, not too blingy, and understated.

I still have an unnatural attraction to CH's though, they just rock.

I might be able to get the BBS for €500-550 delivered ;-)

I don't think you can get CHs anymore...

ET37 will fit fine and will look better.

As it is a 7.5" wide rim, it will be as far out as a 8" ET43. And ET43 with an 8" wide rim just fits fine without any scraping of the tires.

I drive the VZ033 8" at ET44 and it was approved by the TÜV (her in Germany) without any problems. Going out wider, can give some scraping of the tires (ET35 at 8")

John,

Go for CH's if you can find a set.. Trevor had a set on his car and they were just gorgeous.. I would have a set on my car if I could afford them

Ill check and see what prices the CH's are going for:)

I like both, but CHs will always reign supreme with me

Always good to hear of favourable BBS pricing, too ;)

Steve

i cant believe the price of them!

The reason Im getting them at that price is Im going to buy them Germany direct;)

Can someone tell me if the ET (offset) is lower 37ET the wheel sits out more than 48ET?

Which offset would be a better fit with a 18X7.5 rim

Thanks

John

ET37 will stick out more and are not suitable. They will be very noticeable on the fronts probably even sticking out too much.

@Trev

So you think they will sit out too much? even though they are 1 18" X 7.5"?

Thanks

Thanks for that

I explained the ET with a calculation above......

I had ET44 at 8" on front and they were flush. Going ET37 with a 7.5" rim will probably give the same result. Sure chance it at the money they are at.

OK I worked it out the 18 X 7.5 with 38ET will give 10mm more inner clearance and the wheel will sit out by an extra 23mm.

And with an 47ET 1mm more inner clearance and the wheel will sit out by an extra 13mm.

MMMmmmmmmm Decisions, decisions.....

ET37 will give you flush wheels with the outside. The other ET will let the wheels be more on the inside of the wheelarch.

The std 7.5x18 ET51 Zeniths are already a little bit "skinny".They dont really fill out the arches.

Driving 8x18 ET44 on my RS now, these fill out the wheelarches. Have tried 8x18 ET35, but they stand out too much.

And 7.5 ET37 is comparable to the 8.0 ET44 I am driving. You will only have a bit more room between wheel and inside of the wheelarch.
