Iphone has bluetooth, but it's disabled by default. Have you enabled? Settings->General->bluetooth.

Then you get the little bt symbol by the battery icon

Sorry to tell you, but the iPhone does not work with the GSMIII car kit, which is what it sounds like you've got. The GSMII kit does work, however.

The iPhone bluetooth stack does not support rSAP, nor do Apple appear to have any intention to implement it. I logged a bug for it, and am hoping that the iPhone 3.0 software may support it. From what I understand, you will need at least an iPhone 3G for the new bluetooth features in 3.0 (A2DP and file transfer), so if you've got an original iPhone you are out of luck.

This is the main reason I've switched to a Nokia E71. It's a poor substitute for the iPhone in lots of ways, but at least it works.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

I have also heard it will be on the new iPhone software update 3.00 as well, so you may get it to work yet!:)

Can Now confirm iphone 3G on v3 software does do A2DP and works (tested yesterday by a mate who is on a developer program) but probably will not be released to genral public till JUNE! when next version of iPhone is released.

It's great that A2DP support will be in firmware 3.0 (but only for iPhone 3G owners).

However, this still doesn't allow us to use the iPhone as a phone. From what I can tell, none of the 3.0 betas contain rSAP support, which is what we really need.

Still, it will be nice to be able to play music into the Columbus/Bolero wirelessly from the iPhone.

Hi, I drive the Superb II with the Columbus system and just bought a iPhone 3G. i can't get it to work. The car is recognizing the phone, but cannot connect. I used to have a HTC with the rSAP option, and had it work partially (no phonebook update due to being connected with a Exchange server and not wanting to have all phone numbers on memory and sim), but it is not working now... any tips?
