Congratulations Jenson....... What a fantastic race! very pleased for Brawn. Shame about Vettel & Kubica, it was some edge of the seat stuff until that silly incident........

great race, vettel and kubica will be raging with what happened, they were set to take podium.

fantastic effort by brawn, certainly a team to watch this season it would seem.

What a job Braun GP have done. Honda must be sick now. Love seeing engineers come up with original ideas. Well done Jenson.

Is it me or is that a rare scene with all the teams applauding Benson down the pit lane.

As an Irish man reminds me of Jordans first win which also was a one two but more a rub of the green that time.

Well done Ross, if your team can build that in 2 weeks then Jenson for the title

It was the right result on the day .....and there was even a bit more overtaking

Excellent, I'm very glad :D

Bloody brillant!!!!

Brawn GP have doen a fantastic job

Aand re the person who said Honda will be gutted- They actually part finaced this year fro Brawn GP

A good race with plenty of action throughout. I was very impressed with the BBC's coverage, no advert breaks:thumbup: good commentary from Jonathan Legard & Martin Brundle. If any of you pressed the red button after the race they had a good discussion forum with David Coulthard, Eddie Jordan & Martin Brundle + guests.

Well done to Jenson, rubens, Ross and all at Brawn.;) Ferrari will be licking their wounds and Lewis picked up a surprising forth (or third) for staying out of trouble. Roll on next week in Malaysia.

Yes the f1 discussion forum after was brilliant, i always wished there was more evaluation of the race afterwards, and the forum did just that, with some great insight from 3 people who know what they are talking about through their own involvement. So congrats to the beeb too for some great coverage and extras to enhance the experience....... Though, i have to disagree about the commentary...... Brundle was brilliant as always, but i really didn't like Legard, he ruined it slightly for me. I found myself occasionally hitting the red button and switching to the radio five live's commentary instead, David croft & Anthony Davidson were doing a good job there. I think Legard suited radio better than tv......

Hamilton has now been promoted to third place, because Trulli passed him under a yellow / safety car. Vettel will have a 10 place grid penalty at the next race for causing the Kubica accident (I think that's a bit harsh) and a $50,000 fine for not leaving the track as soon as it was safe to do so.

Good opening GP and thourougly chuffed to see Jenson and Brawn take the podium, I thought Jonathan Legard & Martin Brundle were terrible together though, Brundle Is good but Legard seems to talk over him and clash alot, it almost sounds like they dont like each other  I'm sure this will come together over the season though as they get to know each others styles better.

Legard is used to commentating on radio, where you have to keep talking as there are no pictures. Murray Walker & James Hunt didn't get off to the best of starts, with Murray coming close to punching Hunt the shunt. They settled down and became a good team. I'm sure Legard & Brundle will improve as a team, once Legard loses the 'radio style'.

What do you guys think of the KERS system?? Eddie Jordan obviously dislikes it but i think it adds a different dimension to the whole race, and with the aero changes should help with overtaking there did seem a lot more in this race than the past. what do you guys think?

I like the idea of the KERS system, will have to wait to see it properly

If everyone runs with the KERS system I think it will cancel itself out, One driver uses it to try to pass and the other driver uses it to defend. The issue with aero packages / grip / tyre wear and diffusers will be interesting for a few races until the teams settle down.

Great result, fantastic and interesting race! Well done to all at Brawn GP!!

Just wish the WRC was as exciting - sadly not!

Superb race watched it this morning and it was excellent. Very happy with Brawn's performance I knew they would be good and well they were better than I thought. I think Lewis Hamilton was a bit lucky to end up third as I don't think the McLaren is working well.

The Ferraris were a huge disappointment I thought they would have been up there fighting but for some reason they were no where to be seen. Massa retires due to dodgy brakes and Kimi was off the pace.

Can't wait until Malaysia now.

Agree with the above but Legard is another Murray. James Allen wasn't perfect but he got better. As for the pit lane reporter, where's Louise Goodman. That woman's awful.

I have just watched the re-run and what a race that was. It was a shame the BBC lost the first hour before the race for pre-race interviews and Martins Grid walk and the interviews after the race. I wonder if it will be on NTL/Virgin Catch up, Iplayer or the Red Button? I suppose you have to remember though Jarno Trulli stated from the pit lane in 19th and last place and worked himself up to 3rd or 4th place (if he didn't overtake under safety car)

Well done to Jenson and the new Brawn Team. Hay, Button for the Championship this year, anyone?

Yes i know what you mean with the 'radio style' - It's like he tries to explain too much, describing things that you can see perfectly well for yourself on screen, unfortunately it comes across as though he's explaining things to an 8 year old. Works ok on the radio, but not needed on the telly....... Interestingly enough though, even though i kept switching to radio five live's commentary, they weren't annoying me! maybe because i know in my mind that they 'were' describing things for those listening on the radio, i let it wash over me, but as Legard didn't need to do so, he annoyed me........

Well done Button.... and first win by a team on their debut since fangio did so with mercedes in '54 (intreresting seeing as Brawn use Mercedes engines....)

Yeah was a great race , hopefully we will have more of the same during the season!! Well done to Brawn GP Mercedes on the one two , shame about Vettel and Kubica crashing tho , was a good scrap while it was going. I still think the new front and rear wings ar f'ugly tho!! :)

Very good result.

But how long will the Brawn boys be able to keep there "advantage" before the other teams catch up.

Notr had chance to watch it, but hear it was a great race.

Well done Brawn.

Funny how next to no one mentioned Lewis clawing his way from 18th to 3rd despite the car having issues.

True. Personally the best bit was finally hearing the proper F1 music again after that rubbish ITV put out. Although both Trulli and Hamilton should be applauded for battling back from starting in the pit lane and 18th place up to 4th and 3rd (as Hamilton had been promoted)
