Fabia vrs does it sound reasonable?

Featured Replies

Guys, I am looking at getting a fabia vrs, I have found one that is £7,650, 55 plate done 22,500 miles, black, pretty good condition, it is an ex lease i think or ex company car or something, there are a few very minor scratches and a bit of scratching on the dash inside, engine bay looks clean etc.

Does it sound reasonable?

Is it private or Skoda dealer? I got an 06 plate with 14,500 miles a couple of months ago for £7600. You might be able to do a bit better than the price quoted, depends if you think there may be others after it of course.

Mine was from a Skoda dealer so also got a years warranty with it.

Make them an offer and see what they say, it does help to shop around though as prices can vary by a lot.

It's also worth checking the for sale section on this forum from time to time as good deals pop up every now and then

Good luck!

It was just an independant used car dealer, the other thing is I am trading in my renaultsport twingo, I won't go into why but they gave a ridiculously good price for trade in! Very nearly as good as if I sold it privately!

I won't go into why I am selling the twingo, but need a good diesel that can do the miles, but is still fun, seems a logical choice.

They said they would give me a check for the difference, which is always nice, but it seemed as if they wouldn't budge on the price, seeing as they would initially be losing money on it until they sold my current car.

Sounds a little on the steep side tbh

I agree that it sounds a little steep. Parkers guide says £7020 for a 05/55 from a dealer. I have recently (less than two weeks ago) bought a 56 plate Fabia VRS with 22,000 miles from a ford main dealer for less than £7,500. I made a silly offer and they met me half way!

Once you find the right car.....you will love it!

Agreed, could be why thet have offered what seems a good price on the Twingo. Its quiet a common ploy, offer a seemingly really good p/ex deal against what is an overpriced car. They still make the same amount of profit at the end of the day.

That is what I thought, so I am not making a loss either, because if the car was cheaper then the price for the Part X would be less.

One other thing though, because they are writing me a check for the difference, they said I would have to pay for any years warranty I wanted with them, I presume this is definitely worth doing?

I love the car, I think if I can improve the deal slightly I shall go for it, I am taking my brother along later who is very good with cars to check over it briefly with me . . .

I shall let you know if I go for it!

Yeah a bit steep and probably worth keeping on searching, they seem to come and go quite often. I bought an 04 plate with 28,000 for £5,800 that's with years warrantly and cam belt change. I think the newer ones seem to be significantly more expensive, I was looking at an 06 with 16,000 for 7,000 but couldn't justify the extra £1,200. No regrets getting the older plate, and there isn't the engine stutter issue, which has been discussed on here a fair bit.
