Octavia II L&K

Featured Replies

Skoda Norway has confirmed that the new Octavia will come in a L&K version, meaning that there will be Classic, Ambiente, Elegance and L&K version of the new Octavia. This is somewhat surprising since the UK is one of Skodas largest market and I haven't seen a L&K version mentioned anywhere. My dealer confirmed to me that the L&K version will have Xenon, parking sensor front and back, navigation, 12 speakers, cruise and half leather as standard as well as some other goodies that he'll reveal later this week.

The other thing that struck me is the difference in market. Here in Norway security is very important on a car and therefore any brand with a bit of self-respect will offer as much safety equipment as standard. All new Skoda

I've asked a couple of dealers about the L&K. None of which have any information about when/if it will be available. :thumbdwn:

Same here...

(half leather? Thats a drop compared to current \ old one?)

The current\old came with half leather. Full leather was an option. I think.

The dealer I spoke to said that an L&K was likely next year but didn't know any specifics

Ah.. oh.. someone I know has recently bought one and had full leather, assumed standard....

Seems reasonable that the L&K version would come along next year.

Skoda have got the models most likely to be of interest to the fleet buyers onto the forecourts first, and the "specials" will follow later when the factories are up to speed on the new model.

It should be a decent car when it's released, the new Elegance interior is rather nice :)

Yep.

I'd expect it to show up at the same time as the estate and 4wd / VRS versions.

After all , it will basically be an Elegance spec with all the options ticked so its not like its going to be that hard for them to make one.

Depends where they make it, is the current L&K made at the main plant or at the other place (mlada bolesev??) where they finish 4x4's n RS's?

Incidentally,

If you use the "Configurator" on the Skoda Czech site, you can spec up a TDi140 Elegance with all the toys for the grand total of....

RS, 4x4 and L&K Octy 1's were assembled at Vrchlabi (sp?) with the shells being shipped in from Mlada Boleslav IIRC.

The Octy2 was initially built at Vrchlabi, but they were due to swap the models between the factories over the recent summer break....again IIRC :)

I don't recal seeing any Octy 2's in the MB compound when i was there, but the place was full of "old" shape Octy's.

Yep ' date=' one of the engineers at work did just that when he was looking at a new company car.

He had all his list of requirements in a car worked out and the octy met all of them (and was still a couple of grand cheaper than the others).

In the end he bought an Accord because his wife didn't like the idea of owning a Skoda , even though it wasn't a hatchback (one of his primary requirements) and had less legroom in the back (another one of his big requirements). When we started taking the p**s he then started backtracking and said he didn't buy an octy because the glovebox doesn't lock.[/quote']

For Sale.

1 Octavia RS glovebox lock.

1 Careful Owner.

Never Used.

Does anyone actually bother locking a glovebox these days?. Let's face it, if anyone manages to actually get into a car, a poxy little glovebox lock won't be much of a challenge.

I have yet to see a pair of gloves in any glovebox!!

As said above, a screw driver will pop any glove box lock in a second!

Full leather is standard on the old L&K, so I'm reliably informed ;)

Could be wrong, but isn't it standard on the later (2003 on) models, and an option on earlier ones?

Seems to ring a bell...

Whose old L&K?

Neighbour has just got a 2001 L&K which I talked them into - that's half leather and half alcantara.

Whose old L&K?

Mine!

2002 model came with full leather - queried it with the dealer as I expected half leather / half alcantara - he just said that's how it came from the factory.

No complaints here (well, except on a VERY cold morning before the heated seat gets going) :D

Got some more info from the dealer. The L&K version is available from this week in Norway. He won't tell me all the extras until Friday. The L&K version cost

Somone I know has just bought a new 2004 L&K... also full leather, but was sat in showroom so may have been added as an option.

L&K definitely has full leather as standard - black leather was available from March 2003 build (in UK) - available in other markets for much longer!

Leather/Alcantara is also available as an option, but not standard.

Just received the latest brochure for the Octavia and have to say you can now order all the options you could ever need.

One that caught my eye was 17" alloys with sports suspension for (IIRC)

Got confirmation from my dealer on that.

Oh, and no L&K in Holland either.

It does come on the facelifted Fabia, however!
