women drivers....

Featured Replies

parked in tesco the other day, im still sat in the car and the lady dirver in the space next to reversed out at a faster speed than she should, turned too quick and bang, straight into my drivers door, she then straightened up and drove off after grinning at me

so obviously i made chase and eventually got her to stop and exchanged details after arguing with her about her actually hitting me...she claimed the dent was already there. joker. anyway got cctv from tesco too so its all being sorted, just a complete hassell. when next week im having the wheels refurbed and now its going to need to be in the body shop at the same time and aswell as that ive got springs to fit too before the wheels come back from the refurb.....aghhhhh so much to do.

as im having a new door i was wondering if anyone had seen or removed themself, the black strip on the door?? what does it look like and is it easy to remove?? any pictures anywhere??

... had a similar thing happen to me but couldn't turn around and go after them :( gutted.

I'm sure I've seen the question on here before i think someone mentioned that they're partly stuck with strong tape and clips at certain points..... could be totally wrong though, will have a search now.

mate, i am soz to hear that.

I park as far away from the door as pos jus to T**TS like her dont go near the car.

Good job wont me lol id of dun more than argue lol! specially as she dint stop!

I always park as far away as I can, for the same reason. Still one day I was walking into asda and I heard a bang, a rather fat woman in a large 4wd pickup thing opened her door straight into my drivers door. She tried to deny it, but even her "rubber door edge protector" lined up perfectly with the damage to my car. She refused to give any details :-( I should have got the police out, but at the time I was more mad about the damage she had done to my lovely 306, and not thinking straight.....

Fat donut eating b!tch

Hope you reported her to the police for leaving the scene!

The wife was at the checkout in sainsbugs on Wednesday, when they call her registration number over the PA. Someone has scraped and dented the rear wheel arch / bumper on the Fabia. A woman saw the guy do it & drive off so she took his number. The manager went took the wife to the car and took some photos etc, as this was happenning the guy who hit the car returned and gave his details. All sorted through the insurance. He realised that someone saw him do & take his number otherwise I bet he wouldn't have returned.

as far as the original post is concerned, removing the rubber door strips is easy. they're just stuck on with (strong) double sided tape.

If you slide a piece of fishing line under the front and use it to "saw" the first bit off, you can pull the rest off.

The use tons of panel wipe or white spirit to remove all the adhesive that's left behind.

took me about 30 minutes per door...

I was out on road test in a Fabia with an intermittent cutting out and refusing to restart problem the other day. I get to the junction at the bottom of the road and the engine stops, it would not restart so I put on the hazard lights and have another go. There is a woman in a Mondeo behind, after the hazard lights have been put on I try to move the car out of her way on the starter motor, the car is moving about a foot at a time and every time I move it forward she pulls forward a corresponding amount. I eventually give up, get out of the car after she has engaged her horn, point out the two flashing amber lights a foot away from her car and proceed to push it across a lane to the other side of the junction.

A bit of heat from a hair dryer should help soften the glue.

couldn't have been my wife...I disconnected the horn on hers :D

if you got the reg of the car you could have claimed anyway, she didnt have her insurance details on her and didnt know them so i got on the computer and went to www.askmid.co.uk for 3 quid i put in her reg and the brief details of the incident and it logs the accident and also give you the policy number of the person who hit you, their insurance company and also a telephone number and name of contact...pretty dam handy i thought and il claim the 3 quid back through out of pocket expenses.

also i called the police who told me that as i got her details eventually reporting it to insurance was all that was required

I would reconsider leaving off the door bump strips, have them colour coded instead. They have saved a few dings & dents on the door from other inconsiderate drivers on mine, okay they won't stop someone who reverses into the door though:rolleyes: What a bummer mate.
