pulled over by the police

Featured Replies

if you cut the corner on a left hand bend you'd end up driving in the hedge!

(unless you're driving on the right??)

As stated earlier I was not in a position to argue the point:rolleyes:

Drove through Bradford once... did not see a lot of white people!

Go through certain parts of Bradford, and if it wasn't for the brick buildings, you'd think you were in India. Asians and whites live in almost a self-imposed segregation in most places unfortunately. For example Wibsey is predominantly white.

Are there any stats for 2008? Thanks for the welcome! :)

Here, have some more up to date stats! ;)

Welcome to Briskoda! :)

Those figures are very interesting, from the usual speculation I hear in other parts of Yorkshire, there's a perception that Bradford is only 1% white.

I remember in the 80s a National Front supporter once telling me that to solve unemployment in Scunthorpe, he'd eject anyone with a Pakistani background. At that time several thousand had just lost their jobs when one of the steelworks shut, however, as there were only about 300 of his scapegoats in the town, it was clearly a flawed plan!

Obviously closed minds don't like the facts getting in the way of their argument.

I remember one of those Police Stop programs where the copper asked an obviously ethnic guy to select from the list, and he chose white British. The copper asked him if he was sure, and then he had to accept that as the answer.

I like this. An 'obviously ethnic' guy! As opposed to us non-ethnic people.

On a serious note trying to find 'politically correct' ways to talk these days is ridiculous so I'm not really taking the Michael!

I have to say I couldn't resist reading this thread. As soon as I saw the word Police in the thread title I had a little bet with myself. Will this, at any point, become a cop bashing?

I said "Yes of course it will".

I won!!

If we're so underworked and overpaid then you become a police officer. If you don't want to be a police officer then shut the hell up and stop whinging!!! Time for another pint me thinks. :D

Yada yada...get me one in then you fascist bully-boy, I pay your wages etc! ;)

A pint? Why not! Remember you go to work and earn money. You pay tax on that money (which goes towards my wages). You then drive home using petrol and paying tax on that petrol (which goes towards my wages). You get home and tax your car (which goes towards my wages). You then go out and have a drink and pay tax on that drink (which goes towards my wages). And have a smoke and pay tax on those smokes (which goes towards my wages).

I think I win hands down there :D

Just remember the reason we all live in such peace and harmony  in this country is because of the police

G20 protests - Google News

:D

I was stopped by the police today...

Maybe you should be thanking the policeman for stopping you. You had nothing to hide and apparently not doing anything illegal. YOU were actually driving YOUR car.

I bet you would have been singing the policemans praises had someone nicked the car and been out for a "joyride"!

i got stopped to a few months back. Going for a night out with my mates i drove into town *dont drink see ;)*

well through the city centre there are stupid bus lanes that go from the inside of the traffic lights to the outside around a bend (yes stupid i know)

the police were sitting next to me in the bus lane and i decided to cut in behind them.

going ever slow slowly we went passed the train station and they pulled into the bus lane. i drove passed and turned the corner to park in a space at the side of the street.

Police pull up right behind me when trying to parallel park, mounting the kerb (schoolboy error)

policeman pulls up beside me and blocks me in the space

Police: is this your car

Me: Yes......

Police: Got your documents

Me: Is a driving licence fine

*got out the car. walked around the car. pulled out my licence and handed it over

Police: Been out tonight. didnt put you off did i.................... Ok Simon, *hands back licence

Me: is that it?

Police: yes

and then they drove off??

What the hell. I was just confused
