pulled over by the police

Featured Replies

I was stopped by the police today(first time i have been pulled over in about ten years)

When i got in the back of the police car and was asked

"why do you think i have stopped you"

I replied

"i may have been going a tad fast at the bottom of the bend"

The policeman replied

"you did boot it when the 40 zone finished but i stopped you because you were using your phone in the 40 zone"

When i told him that my phone was back at home

He said ok and filled out a form that i signed and he let me on my way

So

The question is

What was the form about?

i have looked at it and their is no need to produce documents(he ticket the documents box)

The only thing i can think of is that he was going to do me for being on the blower

but with not having a phone he just changed it into a document check

but decided to be decent and save my the messing about actually producing my documents at the station.

on a bright note

He did say"those cars can shift a bit cant they":D

Some forces use a combined stop & search / Stop & Account / vehicle search / document producer forms. They just tick whichever box is relevent and hand you the form.

If it was a ticket for a mobile phone, he would fully explain that you were getting a fine for £60, 3 points on your licence and tell you to hand your licence into the nearest cop shop in 7 days. These tickets are usually totally seperate forms to the document producer forms.

C12b - stop and account form.

He didn't really need to give you one of those either; but maybe he's chasing figures.

Thanks lads

Sounds like jonnny says

chasing figures

Maybe the officer was a bit bored and wanted someone to talk to.

like johnny mentioned above its stop and search form to prove they stopped you, what race you are etc so can be used in stats to prove they are pulling over a wide range of the community and not being racially discriminate towards a certain colour of skin.

Although obviously well intentioned - this would have obvious problems working in areas such as Bradford, where there are proportionately more people of a certain race. So perhaps in certain areas the police will go after a certain race of people to keep the numbers up in order to prove they're not being racist?! (So in effect being racist).

I was stopped in Runcorn which is a probably 99% white anglo saxon

So i doubt he had to get his ethnic numbers up

I was in a black car though:D

Not true. For this situation to work, i.e. every cop in Bradford stopping white people just so they don't seem racist, would require a direct order from above, which would never happen as as you say, it's racist, not to mention utterly ridiculous.

Stop and search has been found to be statistically flawed, as most cops will be out there stopping and searching hundreds of people from all backgrounds, but they usually make a point of submitting forms for ethnic minorities, due to acusations of racism from those minorities, whereas the forms won't necesarily be submitted for your average white customer.

Hmmm... maybe crime is very low in your area:rolleyes:

Coming home from work a while ago and pulled over when saw blue flashing lights in rear view nor realising that the blues were for me:eek:

Four cops in car -

Cop "Do you know why you've been pulled over"

Me "No"

Cop " Well you've just cut the corner on that last bend and I could issue you with an on the spot fine and points"

Me "I don't think I cut the corner, but not a lot I can do to prove otherwise (4 to 1)"

Cop " Well let this be a warning, now on your way"

Me (inside my head) "You patronsing w****er"

These are the same brigade who claim they are overworked and underpaid, more like overpaid and underworked"

Looking back at this thread

I wish i had told him to stick his form up his ****

I wasnt using a phone,im fully insured and my car is road legal

And last time i read the highway code

accellerating fast wasnt a crime

Yes you are correct - there are proportionately more people of a certain race in Bradford; there are more British people in Bradford than any other race.

I work in Keighley, which isn't a million miles away, and I can say with utmost certainty, there are more ******* in Keighley than there are normal people.

Try onanists then...stupid swear filter....

Is it now an offence to "cut corners"?

"And last time i read the highway code

But it can be classed as anti-social/careless driving and get you a section 59 or whatever.

"cutting corners"

An offence? Yes depending on circumstances.

Is it now an offence to "cut corners"?

only if it's a right hand bend with double white lines across the centre, and you cross them by cutting the corner...

There are always going to be some officers who see the ability to stop motorists as a power trip; but they are most certainly in the minority, and shouldn't otherwise prejudice your opinion of the rest of us who are there to help.

and as for being underworked and overpaid.....:eek::eek:

Pleased you've cleared that up! I was getting worried for a moment lol. Presumably if it's seen as being dangerous and putting other road users at risk then that could be another instance where you could be fined/pointed. Or if there was a box junction with solid lines on the corner.

Plenty of British people yes. Less so of the "White British" the police will use on their forms though.

And lol Onanists, what a great word :D In fact I was passing through Keighley on Saturday and there were some Onanists racing each other - I suspect from the ribbons on their cars they'd been to a wedding or something.

And it took four of you!

Left hand bend!

Left hand bend!

if you cut the corner on a left hand bend you'd end up driving in the hedge!

(unless you're driving on the right??)

If you cut any corner and in so doing cause another driver to brake or change their path (or crash LOL) - that is an offence.

I remember one of those Police Stop programs where the copper asked an obviously ethnic guy to select from the list, and he chose white British. The copper asked him if he was sure, and then he had to accept that as the answer.

Maybe he's testing you if he can manipulate you.. and ask for a payment or tip an he's not going to ticket you..

And then arrest you for attempting to bribe an officer of the law? :D

Surely if they're going to do that go after the drivers of BMW 7 Series, top end Mercs, Aston Martins, Bentleys, and Bugatti's - who'll more than likely have a stack of notes in their wallet (probably £50's)..

The majority of people in Bradford are white & British.

Obviously poll taken at weekend ,whilst the rest are sitting in line astern in the middle lane of M1/M6(@ approx 55mph) going south on Saturday ,and returning similarly on the Sunday on M6/M1. Have seen a few on the A14 heading south as per the question (can we get to London this way ).What totally baffles them though -the A14 is DC ,and has no middle lane for them to use :rolleyes:
