there is an utterly massive update coming very soon along with lots and LOTS of shiny parts the postman has bought me. *scouts promise*

carbon fibre bonnet and bootlid have been ordered from Betamotorsports in the states, nice, clearcoated, carbon. Lush. Even nicer is how they're getting shipped here by air within the next fortnight.

in the mean time. let these renderings whet your appetite.

growler009.jpg

and stripping ALL the sound deadening out

growler010.jpg

and laughing  at JUST how much filler is on the wings (to be used as a positive for the mould for a carbon fibre set) - circa 1cm thick of filler...

growler011.jpg

and ripping out those fake vents..

growler012.jpg

and sticking all the panels inside the car....

growler008.jpg

a nice chap called Alvin came and picked Candice up to take her to the bead blasters..

Looking good!

Commendable effort so far. Can't wait to see it take shape.

however...something else came up. much more major!

will have to wait for the photos but it's a good un. how i am laughing, i am not really sure. :rotz::rofl:

Sounds ominous

  • Author

Yeh....

So it turns out at one point in Candices life she went and did a little rolling around in fields...

as a result...the roof isn't the original....with a replacement....cut and shut in on the pillars. So that's something to add to the welding list.

NEXT!

in other and more cheery news. some carbon fibre lushness arrived.

WOOT WOOT :thumbup::D:cool:

3718171_MonkeyJackInBox_07S2?$FP$

why is that monkey?...

OMFG ANOTHER PARCEL LOLZ!

with hundreds of pounds worth of Lexan lightweight yumminess?

growler260.jpg

growler259.jpg

I think I will come join you in the box monkey, for the sake of the children monkey.

  • Author

i <3 lexan

growler261.jpg

blue colour is just the protective plastic, although the lexan is OEM green glass colour.

so I set about replacing the 1/4 windows and preparing/repairing them for some polish time...

growler262.jpg

growler263.jpg

glass and seal destined for the bin...:)

tiny bit of welding to do on that particular frame tomorrow at work.

  • Author

firstly something needs clarifying.

i don't drink carling!

secondly, tiny bit of spare time after i got back from work today, skimmed some of the low spots in the panels with a very light filler skim after keying the primer with 80 grit, old 1/4 glass made for a good mortar board. the worst of the panels will be pulled out with a slide hammer/hammer and dolly.

proper update once it's all confirmed...

How I've just seen this I'm not sure! Awesome :D

Very funny thread too, so top marks there as well
