Boot button is dead (now alive 18/04/09)

Featured Replies

Button on the boot seems to have given up today. Still have the remote & the lever to use to open it so not too worried. Just wondered what's involved. Is it just a switch that needs replacing?

i'd guess so? maybe something to do with the central locking! when i was running about without a doorcard and a block of wood to hold the window up! i didn't have the central locking buttons couldn't use either electric window, and the boot button wouldn't work! but would pop with the key fob!!

mine has been acting up as well. Won't open with the button on the remote or by opening from the boot.

Mine got a little temperamental at one point, it was to do with the central locking... had something to do with me running my battery dead.... >.

Central locking is fine and still works from a fair distance. All doors open too, and I "think" the boot is opening as well - It's just dead on the button on the boot itself. :) C'est la vie.

Working again today!

mine stopped working ages ago, and the lever is broke too

Working again today!

Maybe it went on holiday

Working again today!

So what did you do to get it working again?

Sounds like he just left it alone and then tried again later! :confuse:

Indeed. It did coincide also with a momentary switcheroo of the electric window buttons. Passenger switch did my one, and the tuther did passenger window. All seems to be back to normal now though.

Mine has been giving trouble since early last year. The button on the boot only works on its own once in a while, sometimes I need to open a rear door before it will work. The lever in the car works fine. I have had the actuator replaced at the advice of a mechanic but that didn't solve the problem. He was indifferent to me after that.

Mine's been 100% reliable since the above little blip. :)

i have had the same electirc window problem, along with the auto open not working sometimes, and a few other electrical niggles. Any ideas what it actually is, except for the car clearly having a good sense of humour? :)
