....are the OEM badges flat backed or are they curved in profile to match the curve of bonnet/boot??:confused:

Edited by PastyBoy

Flat to my knowledge. The skoda emblem has two pins in it that go through two locating holes in the boot though,

Thanks Jase - on the ball as ever!

Should probably have given a bit more info tho...talking bout the large circlar ones

I have been to a scrappers and popped 1 off the boot of a T reg Felly and that was sat flat but looking at the one on my Fabia boot i'm sure it looks curved and the missus won't let me wrench it off to find out for sure! :D

flat

Not quite. I bought one to replace the one on the grill as the one on mine looks like a dude pleasured himself over it  (not me)

Its slightly domed with the prongs sticking out and this is definitely the OEM one:

Some photies here: Skoda Badge - a set on Flickr

Just a daft Question?

I have seen on here how to de-badge the rear badges, but how do you re-stick the badges back onto the boot? It is because my Fabia and vrs badges are placed next to the number plate and not next to the Skoda badge.

They come with sticky backs... like a big sticker :D You won't be able to take off any of the badges and reattach unless you use some type of glue which I seriously wouldn't recommend

So you're saying I'll have to fork out and buy some new ones then. I did wonder about using some Black Silicone Sealant, mastic stuff a try, or I could just leave it de-badged.

I doubt they'd be too expensive. I got mine from the bay of e for little to no money.

Be warned the skoda logo in the middle has 2 prongs (as you can see in my photos) which reset in 2 holes in the boot lid. Debadge it completely you'll have 2 holes

The bonnet one is flat

and the

boot one has a slight curve

All,

The boot badge is definately curved as the pic earlier shows (just place a ruler or straight edge at either side of the badge) and i'm also certain the grille badge is too.

When i took it off to de-chrome the grille i measured it up and it was curved - as it was Kna_ _ered I binned it

Placing a straight edge on the grille where the badge fits there is a 3-4mm gap both top and bottom to suit the curve of the badge.

Arn't the front and rear badges the same part and number anyway?

^^^^ correct and obvious upon looking slightly closer

handily found an adequately sized 80mm mini CD which i blue tacked next to the original badge

The further down the boot the less pronounced the curve so flat badges could almost work as replacements if ur not too worried about large amount of adhesive
