Another colour coded grill!

Featured Replies

I know there are loads of pic's but it looks sooooooo much better coded than the chrome, Skoda should learn from the VXR and do it in the factory on the vRS!!

Had my local paint shop do it, I don't think u will ever get that factory finish otherwise, cost me 60 quid, but I think it was well worth it!

Doh.......:o

Very, very nice - I'm hoping to be following in your footsteps very shortly - looks pretty mean on the estate

Another one in the grille club, and a fellow black magic owner too!

Looks great :)

On a side note, my 'perfect' number plate exists - 'T1 MMY'.

Last time I checked it went for over £100K

yes a trick that skoda wish to ignore.

Welcome to the club that looks the part:thumbup:

looks really good pagey, 60 quid well spent me thinks :)

Is the grille actually chrome?? I have just spoke to a spray company in Fareham who says the the paint wont stick to the Chrome??

its a chrome coating on plastic. They are kind of right in that it wont stick as it needs to be keyed first to make it rough then sprayed with etch primer to make it stick. Plenty of people on here have had their chrome ones sprayed and have hardly any have come back on to say it fell off!

I went down the hard route and sandblasted the chrome off but I wouldnt recommend it unless youve got lots of time on your hands!

I did this on my mk1 Tavia.

I would like to do it on my current car but as it's a lease car, they won't let me!

Does anyone know of a decent place in Hampshire to colour code my grill?

Cheers

Whereabouts in Hants are you?

Southampton

I like the colour coding, it looks good. On most colours. I am still not sure whether it works on Race Blue though, which is why I haven't done it to mine. Yet.

On the subject of the plates... My one is almost perfect. I have to wait another 6 years to get KR15 to replace KR51.

Southampton

OK so south Hants. There's probably a few good places around Southampton, but I've used Colourtech in Portsmouth and found them to be very good.
