Remapped and 312mm brake vRS insurance friendly?

Featured Replies

Hi,

My skoda's going in next week for remap, 312mm brakes and service. After a long winded phone call with Admiral car insurance, they won't insure the remap, can anyone recommend a remap friendly insurance company?

Cheers

Matt

Seconded - they beat my cheapest genuine quote on a standard VRS and are specialists in modified vehicles. Nice people to deal with too...

Any reason why they won't insure the remap?

It seems strange given elephant had loads of modification options last time i looked?

yep elephant gave me a quote of £398 for a stage 1 remap on a fabia Vrs

Elephant limit you to 6 modifications though :(

I found out the hard way with my Escort when I got to my 7th mod, phoned up to add it and they gave me 30 days to get lost

Adrian Flux are good though, cheaper to insure with them fully declared than with most others on a standard vehicle!

I'm with Saga................£19-60p a month for a Standard Fabia Vrs..............Full no Claims

I thought you were a bloke

Saga is over-50s, not women?

Im with Brentacre...

They beat Adrian Flux by a long way this year.

They will let you have any amount of mods.

And I know they let you remap.

yeah i was a little miffed after being with admiral for 3 years then being told i can't do it, even though i've never had an accident and only 1 speeding ticket which will be coming off my licence fairly shortly.

1 phone call to adrian flux and insurance has been sorted - cheaper than admiral.

cars booked in for the 12th with RK Engineering in cornwall, remap, 40k service and 312mm brakes fitted (i would love todo this myself but when it comes to resale then i have a piece of paper/receipt to show they were fitted and tested professionally - for the last 6 months i've been doing maintenance on 'mastiffs' in afghan so it wouldn't have been a worry)

once the work is complete i'll post a review of the garage, but they seem spot on

swinton specialist wer cheaper than flux for me this year, but i tend to flit between the 2

Hey mstride, are you going to rk in st agnes?? i live just outside there and thinking of getting my remap done there too, you will have to tell me how everything goes:thumbup: look out for my red vrs still not been seen yet :thumbdwn:

Yes, and frequently (deliberately mis-)claimed to be an FLA of Send A Granny Away! ;) No mention of Granddads you notice!

I'm also with Brentacre - they are really helpful when it comes to insuring modified cars. John is really helpful there.

I am..............Monday to Friday's, on a weekend you may call me Shirley..............;)

Too late for the OP I see, but another vote for Brentacre if anyone is still reading by this point (and not calling Shirley )
