Chipped

Featured Replies

There is a lot of talk about BHP when chipped but what is the 0-62 time and top speed???

All depends on what car it is ;)

Search :)

My bonnet is covered in stone chips... doesn't influence 0-60 times at all ;)

well if u add some more chips, you might save a lil bit more weight, and this shud see a nice decrease of about 0.000001 of a second off your 0-60 time. Go get some chips, GL

Ah but can you scientifically prove that ;)

God i've been waiting for years to say this.

Spoken like a true Mod too!

antatwork,

I can't actually remember the last serious post on Briskoda about top speeds and 0-60 times. Most on here (with or without mods) are more interested in how their cars drive in more realistic scenarios ie on public roads or the odd little tussle with more expensive machinery.

If anyone did want to post figures I'd be interested but in the end the numbers would be quite meaningless.

Well said sir!

And IIRC, the current cup holder of the FJMMSC (Funky Jutel Mega Meet Sprint Cup) is in fact a standard, unmodified, unchipped car. It's more a question of smartly delivering the power to the road and not over-cooking it :D

Oh, and when I say unmodified, I mean unmodified, n'est-ce pas, mon cher Des?;)

why bother quoting BHP figures then? another meaningless figure?

I suppose bhp gives an indication to top speed. Octy vRS have been known to hit the limiter at 172 odd mph. Don't think an "unmodified" skoda with 180bhp can get that far ;)

I have known some chips to reduce the top speed by not allowing the engine rev freely to the limiter. :(

Ah well that would be those McCain oven chips .............they tend to clog me up a bit as well :D

Colin, change your ppp to 40. Problem solved ;)

What about the golf ball effect though, surely the dimples should enhance the 0-60 time?
