Featured Replies

The next monthly meet for the East Midlands lot!

Venue: The Snipe at Sutton, Alfreton Road, Sutton in Ashfield, Nottinghamshire NG17 1JE (just off the A38 off M1 J28 heading towards Mansfield) - See here for a map: Maps of the world, street map search - powered by Multimap

Date: Tuesday 26th May

Time: 7:30pm

So who's up for this month? Last month had another good turn out and a couple of new faces. Thumbs up to A8_Tony from Tyresmoke who drove down from Newcastle to pop his head around the door!

Not sure if people want to eat but getting there at 7:30 should give plenty of time to grab some food.

Copy and paste the list into a new post and add your name and car

Well I'll find out on Tuesday morning & you'll (hopefully) find out on Tuesday evening.

Funnily enough today I've seen a Kia Soul in a creamy white colour,

it certainly is eye-catching!

Well the Octy has gone in for it's facial surgery...

The courtesy car is a TDI, anyway, got to go to work now,

hopefully see you later.

I'm going to be a pedant here and say that TDi is a trademark and that only cars with a VW Group TDi engine is allowed to use the "TDi" name, that's why there's so many TDCI, CRTD etc names out there.

Sad that I know that eh?

Got round to attending my first meet tonight.

Thanks Ben for organising it, and to all those who attended for making it a very pleasurable experience.

Hope you get rid of your pot soon, and the plaster on your foot

Might want to have a change of heart on getting the tints fitted after the comments from on high on my 'broken into' thread - don't want to make your car look too attractive to scumbags who want to turn our lives into a bunch of bog standard Suzuki Liana driving robots :rotz:

Hopefully see you next month

The meet was rubbish, 2 new people spoilt it!

And this coming from the person who turned up at a Skoda meet in..........

...........wait for it.............

.........a Land Rover :rofl::rofl: (albeit a very nice 58 plate black Land Rover, with push-button start etc etc etc)

Hopefully next time time you'll have a proper car

Seriously, though, hope the repair went/goes well - couldn't believe how it happened - I'm not sure whether I'd have been quite so understanding.

Did you head back via the conventional roads or did you go home "as the crow flies"

I've nick-named it the Amoco Cadiz ...

The chairs are comfy & the stereo sounds good.

But I can't say that I understand why you'd use one "on road" unless you did a lot of towing.

At Motorway & A road roundabouts it's like sailing a ship at anything above 25mph.

It keeps up with general traffic in town, but the sheer weight & height mean that on motorway slip roads it's 20mph behind the Octy.

I'm just lost as to why 4x4s are so popular

Eee by gum, a cracking night and a beautiful rainbow arched over too. Some strange people indeed but the're the locals :Yikes: or Audi owners :olympic: tee hee hee.

I didn't expect the 'round table' aspect tho, funny handshakes amd faces too. :grouphug:

Thankyou very much Ben for organising another 'FAB' meet, will you have another chauffeur next month too lol

Thankyou Tisha x x :orb_lol:

Some strange people indeed

Would tha like ice with tha coffee, madam ? ........

............there's nowt so queer as folk !
