Fitch Fuel Catalyst

Featured Replies

Any one know anything about these?

The are an inline fitment that contains some sort of jiggery pokery that helps condition the fuel and ensure the molecules are the same size thereby ensuring better detination, smooth running and slightly more power. It also kills any diesel bug.

I had a meeting with two of their guys today trying to get us to stock them (we are in the boat engine market which suffers from the poor quality of fuel available).

At first I though snake oil but have to admit they did talk me around. They are widely used in the US and the military also use them. Apparently Morrisons and Sainsburys have also started to use them on their trucks.

They fit between the tank and fuel pump and are supposed to be like having a fuel additive permenantly.

One of the guys mentioned he had a Superb 2.5 diesel and that it made a big difference (he would!!) so I said I also have a diesel Skoda and managed to blag myself a free one to try.

Will let you know the results.

would be interesting, is this just diesel?

I've heard of one of these before.. I must admit I was nearly convinced. Not convinced enough to part with cash, but it sounded good.

Would be interesting to hear the results

It is supposed to work with any fuel type.

Well it was free (they are £150 to buy) so I'm willing to give it a go. I'll let you know the results.

well worth trying for free.

Complete and total waste of time and money and even if they are free it will be the time spent fitting you will never get back.

I once tested similar devices and their effects when I worked for Fram and we couldn't prove they did anything at all to anything.

Save your cash for when the jetpack comes out.

£150 and how much does it improve mpg? just wondered if really you would actually recuperate the money?

So how exactly does a magnet on your fuel line "align molecules" when the diesel is mashed to death in the high pressure fuel pump then rammed through a tiny hole in the injector?

It's like combing your hair before parachuting from an airplane.

No magnets involved.

Having done a bit of reading around I have come to the conclusion that Decron is spot on.

we had a guy come into us once telling us he had some stuff that would make us use less petrol for the same amount of miles. Basically as i told him if i filled two vehicles up with 20 litres and poured in a litre of his stuff i would get about 5 miles more as i have a litre more in the tank. The guy didnt like it and tried to get out of the hole he was digging but had been brainwashed so well by his company that he beleived them and couldnt see that a vehicle with more fuel would go further as it had more fuel. Cooking oil or any other oil/fuel additive would have got the same result imho.
