Fabia vRS drivers seat creaking under acceleration

Featured Replies

I've noticed that my drivers seat has started creaking when you accelerate. I thought it was mentioned before but I've searched and cant find anything on it.

Has anyone else had this problem, and how was it fixed. If I have to take it to the dealers, is it worth waiting until next service time? (not for another 9,600 miles).

Go to the dealers now and complain. I've had a creaking seat and whatever they did fixed it. Trust me, it will start to annoy you.

You're damn right it's annoying! Quinten, could you be kind enough to find out from your dealer what he did to your seat? A lot of people have this prolem (me included) and from previous threads it's clear that so far lubrication, re-welding and a new seat have all failed to cure it. So if your dealer knows something no-else is trying, we'd all like to know! Cheers!

I'm on my second seatbase - soon to be on number three.

sell the seat to me!

Looking at some older threads I posted in, I didn't come up with a solution either. As to going back to the dealer... er... no :D.

Is it the back or the base of the seat?

I know underneath my Octavia passangers side seat base starts it when on Donegal roads, I put some oil on a paint brush and put it into a few areas I can get to under the seat and it seems to go away (until the next time I'm up there).

Very annoying, I nearly tell herself to get in the back :rofl:

Yep mines still doing it, ive got mine in for a 20k service shortly.

Ive spoken to Skoda technical about it and they are unaware of any problems. So if people are having them repaired the dealers arent sending back the appropriate report forms.

Im going to change the base on mine and keep an eye on it, if the problem comes back i shall get onto technical about it.

Interesting - my Octy vRS used to creak quite a lot - which annoyed the **** out of me. But now I think about it I don't remember the last time it did that - so I guess it's solved itself - I certainly haven't done anything about it....not that this helps you really..

Mine squeaks all the time, need the radio on v.loud, and motorway noise drowns it out.

However when i have to pick up my Gran she chats all the way home (1 hour)

and constantly says 'whats that squeaky noise', its my chair Gran.

'It is a Skoda dear'.

arrggghhh.

Just adjust the height up a touch, that usually stops it.

Then get your dealer to have a look at it.
