the part is 50 inc vat and they were fitting at cost 15 instead of 40 per hour and he said he would only charge for 1 hour

Alot of main dealers are not keen on fitting cruise. Of my two local dealers one told me it can't be done and the other said it shouldn't be done :confused:

Get K to do it. He knows his stuff and as you can see there are plenty on here who have let him.

oh yes i know id trust k to do it and he will if they dont either that or they let me loose in their workshop with their tools lol

they do have a rolling road tho

Don't know mate but you could suggest you get it fitted by him and send them the bill if they are going to be funny about it.

I think you'll find that info is on a "need to know" basis, and you don't need to know ;)

Either take it to K, or don't get it fitted. Them's yer options i'm afraid :)

just to set the record straight for those who don't know YES i fit cruise control NO it's not a approved aftermarket fitment, YES all the parts are genuine, will it invalidate your warranty POSSIBLY (or depends on your dealer), will they know? probably not. it's a "cash in hand" job done by me at MY home LOCATION and NOTHING to do with my dealership. will it work all octavia 1.8t engines YES most octavia diesel's YES fabia vrs YES other fabia's dunno yet (only done vrs's at the moment) apart from a 2000/1 fabia tdi which didn't (sorry j). the work is usually done on sundays takes 1-2 hours and the cost is
