Tyre Prices in France

Featured Replies

I'm in the market for a full set of 205/40/17's and am off to France in the not to distant future which set me thinking......:rubchin:

Are there any savings to be had on new rubber over the water?

I have checked out the usual suspects in the UK so no need for a list of recommendations for them thanks all the same :D

TIA

Wonder if you'll have to declare them at customs ( do we still have customs ??)....You might have to pay duty on them :D

shouldn't be any duty from bringing goods in from the EU

Can't see how you'd have to pay duty on the tyres if they are already on your car, as they'd no longer be new, would they?

Although they wouldn't actually be going on the car I'm taking to France. ;)

They're for the TT Comps sat eagerly awaiting rubber in my garage :D, that said they would fit the vRoomster.................Hmmmmmmm Satin Black TT Comps on an Anthracite Roomy Scout

look at 'Norauto' normally located near an Auchan

if you need good adress(website or local dealer next to paris) for tyres, maybe I can help you.

The current £ - Euro exchange rate isn't going to do you any favours

no because, I've seen few web site and the UK prices are often better than french prices, but the transport is more interesant for the frenchy, in depend where are you command them. For me the tyres come from germany because they are very fast to expect and it's cheap.:)

In my experience they cost more, problem is certain countries like france and italy, they dont have the same tuning scene, dont get me wrong, they like tuned cars but they are more restricted as to what they can do and fit to their cars. I have bought tyres in italy (when i lived there) and they cost more on my audi, i ended up buying some marangoni mythos which cost about £50 more per tyre than i could have got them for in england at the time, everything else (in a 225/40/r18) was just silly prices!

When i drove to barcelona las yr (via andorra which is duty free) i looked at the prices both in france and andorra and again france was quite a lot more expensive and andorra was just slightly more expensive than the uk even though its duty free, plus they didnt have the choice of tyres....!

Ended up going back to where i always do which is elite in rainham essex, to be honest its decent quick service and their prices are pretty much the lowest i could find (even if i buy online and pay a fitter and without the hassle). Thats where i got my sessantas and before that always bought my t1-rs.
