Featured Replies

got told by dealer 2day that the ocy vrs has now stoped being made and the last lot where made 2 weeks ago so there won't be anymore till i guess the new version next year so guess theres gonna be even less on the road!!!!

Excellent. Now I drive a classic. Hmm, classic insurance quotes. I wonder...

Where's me beard...

Lets just hope the new one will be a worthy replacement :)

I try not to think about it.

No offence to our sludge burning brethren but I just don't like diesels.

Did I get the 'no offence' bit in?

Oh yes...

Well if it gets the 2.0 fsi turbo (petrol) lump like people have mentioned then it might not be that bad and hopefully it will get a decent bodykit because im not that keen on the appearance of the octy 2 at the moment

Bet it gets the new Gulf GiT lump in it :)

Having seen the spec in Autocar last week there wont be a lot of difference power wise. :thumbdwn:

Needs to be better than the Gulf GiT :D

i would have thought the new vrs would have been a bit better than some golf engine i mean i was speaking to my skoda manager guy and he said he heard some rumors about some 3.8L going in it dunno how reliable it is though!!!!

Good man

Hmm...production ended well before Skoda said it would...

What's the betting the car-park at the Factory is full of RS's, or if not, there'll be a few in the stock yards at the Docks :)

Read in Auto Express this week that the vRS Octy will be shown at Geneva next march.Maybe they'll stick a diesel lump in it!

maybe there'll be petrol and deisel options,SEAT are offering the ibiza in both guises

When ordering mine last week, I was told that they have made all the Octavia vRS's that they are going to make! The revised price list also said *whilst stocks last...

So as they say the writing is on the wall!!!

Looks like it is going to be 'a fast, appreciating classic!' :)

To be perfectly honest, i think "classic" is stretching things a bit, even though it's a damn good car :)

Should minimise the damage to the used values though, the price cut hasn't done us any favours.

there are plenty of Silver ones at the docks, black on the other hand are harder to find.

There's a black one at Northampton for sale, but I wouldn't recommend anyone from here buying it.

Is this rumour true about the model being discontinued? I was under the impression that it would be made until the new vRS model came out.

Please Lord ...........NOOOOOOO !!!!!...........please grant us immunity from the smelly pump :D

At my age there's not too many things in life to look forward to ;) .....and going to the smelly pump definately ain't one of them !

as long as its cheaper than a 'Golf 'we'll all be ok......

Odd,

I was told by someone at Skoda thet Octavia production didnt finish until March next year along with the estate. New model vRS is due out for Septemeber next year.

Some people have had a bit of a wait for a new Octavia I vRS due to several police forces buying a fair ammount of them for undercover cars as thier new low price makes them a very good choice for pursuit work.

i did think that but when i orderd my estate they said i might no be able to have a black one as they stoped makeing them but lucky for me they had a few left so i did get a black one in the end! well still waiting for skoda to ring me they said the trasporter was comeing in yeserday but still no phone call kinnda wanting to go down there see if i can see it anywhere hehehe

The Octavia I estate is contuning production until the new model is ready to replace it as its quite a popular seller. Also there may be a slow production of a few base Octavia I's with the 90 bhp diesel and the 1.6 engine, but that is undecided.

Jeez! I'm glad I ordered mine when I did. Just got to get the money to pay for it now :thumbdwn:

Octy vRS is most definitely still in production and still available to order.

I factory ordered cars new build cars yesterday.

Indeed, one of our guys in our workshop has just ordered a brand new Yellow Octavia vRS, he got a right sweet deal.

I ordered my vRS Combi on 19th of August already, the delivery time was quoted 8 weeks, just checked with my dealer and they told me that the car goes into production on week 41 and should arrive somewhere in week 42 :)

Did I mention I was getting mine tomorrow?
