What does this button do?

Featured Replies

On my new Roomster 3 Tiptronic, there's a button on the left of the handbrake marked "Reset", it's opposite the "Aux" socket. I can't find any reference to it in the handbook so I wondered if someone can tell me what it is that it resets please.

There isn't one on my manual model so it's got to be a gearbox function. Try another look at that section of the handbook.

Do you have tyre pressure monitoring?

All the Tiptronic have TPS and thats what it is - it is in the manual somewhere, can't look at the moment because it's at home.

Thanks Dave, is that tyre pressure sensors please? If so I should be able to find it in the manual when I get home. I did wonder because the icon on it looks a little bit like a tyre in cross section.

Edit - Sorry, I just clicked on the link in the email which took me to the last post. I didn't notice the earlier replies until I had posted.

I thought it might be, because the Leon's one is thereish.

Thats right- I've got a feeling it's in the bit of the manual that deals with the ESP and stuff.

My daughter thought that it reset your tyre pressures right if they were a bit low :rotz:

Look at page 152 and 153 in the owners manual.

Thanks everyone, I found it in the manual when I got home. The problem was that it didn't appear on any of the pages that show what the buttons & switches do. Once I knew that it concerned TPS, I was able to goto the right place in the manual. In fact, I didn't even know I had it. I thought it was an optional extra and didn't realise it was standard on the tiptronics.

took me a while to find out what it was for and still haven't had to use it :)

the tyre pressure monitoring is good, saved me a new tyre a few times, seems to activate when pressure difference is about 8-10 psi, if you swap a tyre you sometimes get it activate mile or so down the road, double check and then reset the system

i have a 2007 roomster 2 with tyre pressure monitoring, cruise and upgraded brakes as options currently 68000 miles and rising
