Er, hello. OK, so I'm feeling ever so slightly inadequate with my brand new 1.2 HTP, but comfort and toys over speed. Less than 200 miles on the clock, so I'm hedgehogged if I'm doing anything silly with it right now. Besides, I got a damned good deal on it. I think.

Obviously, I'd have gone for the brand new fully laden jet black Octavia RS they had for sale in the dealership for 13.5k (and I bet you can haggle them down) but the Fabia had a rear wiper. Thats my excuse, and I'm sticking to it.

Excuse my ignorance Plissken ... but what is an HTP engine ?

Ooh and welcome BTW

Its the 1.2 12V 64Bhp version. The 1.2 HT is the 54Bhp version. I think.

The difference is that the HT will pull the skin off a bowlful of rice pudding, and the HTP will pull the skin off a panful of rice pudding. :)

There you go, me blind to it. I was too busy lusting over the 180BHP sign, and the leather interior. And the black finish.

Joking aside, for 13.5K on the road, who wouldn't? It was out of my price range but if I could have, I'd have snapped the dealers hand off.

Still, chuffed with my little Fabia. Used to have an Escort, which I drove into the ground. Handled like a tank, looked like a tank, accelerated like, well, a tank. Now all the arm muscles I built up changing gear and steering it have met power steering and a feather light gear change, with "interesting" consequences.

Nice motor, had one as a loan car for a week. Loved the engine note - mini 911 anyone. :D Only thing that scared me was that t was less economical than my old RS Octy
