vRoomster Pics

Cracking pics Tony. I was only thinking to myself t'other day when cleaning my air filter on the vRoomster, "I wonder if an Ibiza Strut Brace would fit this"

It does indeed :) it's virtually the same as a Fabia vRS under the bonnet, the Fabia 2 is only a skin job after all, it's still a mk1 under it all.

The ARB keeps roll in check and the brace just makes the steering a little more direct. Changing the power steering weight with Vag-Com helped with the feel a little as well.

Looks spot on mate :)

Looking at that last shot would a twin tail pipe sticking out of the back centre (ala Astra VXR) finish it off nicely?

That was all under consideration mate, but if I can get the shoulder sorted, the mrs has designs on towing a carawotsit so I need that for the towbar. I am planning some exhaust mods, to be done very soon in fact, but am wanting to keep the original look.

Keeps the Paxo boys in check, as one discovered on Sunday night after cutting old Roomy up on Sunday night on the way to work oooop north.

as always looks wonderful fluff, makes me want to lower mine and stick those wheels on, top stuff chap

am i reading the dyno right at 160 (ish) bhp?

seriously though, seeing that has made my mind up what im going for next, i was thinking going back to a fab vrs or a ibiza fr, not now:thumbup:

You are reading it right, same figures on 2 different RR's to. Decat pipe going on soon and custom back box. No fancy tailpipe though, I know to some it's a missed opportunity but I want to keep it stock from the outside.

I couldn't see the Seat sport one fitting when I offered it up so I left it. Doesn't do much in normal driving so there is little return on the effort for me.

Re Alloys

I ran my TD Monza's on mine for about 4 months last year but I can't find the piccys :(

Ver nice Tony, those wheels make the car :)

OT, how do you manage the bike with your shoulder?

It's a different range of movement mate, so it's not half as painful (but it's safe and a pain derived from pleasure ;)). I'm hardly gripping the bars anyway apart from wheeling it in and out of the garage. But 3 - 4 hours in the car, especially town driving pushing the lever back and forward and lock to lock on the wheel are pretty painful (Need a "City" button like on Panda's). It's like someone like someone tearing at the bone in your shoulder socket. It's hard to explain, but hop on your bike and then sit in the car and check it yourself :)

I'm off to see a BUPA quack on the 20th so will find out if they need to open me up again, early last year I was opened up to have the plates removed from the shoulder and the remaining capsule shrunk down and also had some plate / screws removed from my hip. I am getting a taste for morphine :D:D:D:D

vRoomster's not looking bad, considering it's the "Ginger" kid of the Skoda family :D

I think you do yourself a dis-service Tony, its looking brilliant, i especially love the OEM look youve managed to keep, sounds like a cracking sleeper car. I like to do similar things to my Furby but GAP insurance wont allow any mods :(

vRoomster is looking great Tony!

I looked through the threads with the pics on but wherever you were hosting them you appear to have deleted them from there :(

It looked pretty good with those on to iirc, black wheels on a silver roomy..... tasty :)

Yeah the hosting is dead due to a nasty hack attack and my pHD mate who is running it still hasnt sorted the backups :(

That's just BRILLIANT. If Skoda were to make a Roomster VRS, that's what it would look like. Can I ask - (1) do you have any clearance problems with the low rear ARB ? and (2) did the Eibach springs make the car uncomfortable/ and (3) did you change the shock absorbers too? I used Eibach -25mm's on my Alfa 156 and hated them - the spring rates were so fast that to be honest it compromised the car until I got the originals back on !! I got much better results from really really good shock absorbers (special Bilsteins). I've owned a Roomster for 3 weeks now and within the 1st day I realised it desperately needed a rear ARB......but I'd like to hear your comments on 2 and 3, if you don't mind.

Many thanks,

Chris C

Search and you can find the answers to most things.

No photos unfortunately. The RARB isn't lower than the wheel therefore it doesn't catch.

Good choice of tyres on the front Sir...........

   ... but they're Dunlop SP MAXXs aren't they?

Seriously T - really smart looking 'Q' car that I'm sure goes like stink. :D;) but aren't you getting itchy feet to move onto something else?

Perhaps a Yeti TDI CR170? :)
