Looks like i have blown my DV

Featured Replies

But it lasted 40k:D. Has anyone fitted the new D valve and if so any problems with it?

I posted in the thread about the D valve that I've fitted one, as have others. One person (can't remember who) said that it didn't seem right but I've got no problems and apparently the D valve has superceded all the diaphragm valves now anyway, so you can only buy the D valve.

Agree with the above. Fitted mine 2K ago, no problems so far. The D revision looks a much meatier part!

Awsome GTI are also listing it for the Skoda 2.0TFSI, so maybe "Ask AwsomeSarah" for her advice?

buy direct from skoda for 48 pound so it'll be cheaper going to your local rather than having to pay P&P from awesome or JKM. im fitting my D revision DV along with the exhaust cos i think mine has torn as well.

Hi

Yes we sell them and if you live quite away from the dealers , then it is quicker and easier

But as has been said , they are OEM and we have sold a few , with at the moment yet , no issues

Thank you Uncle for reccomending me ;)

I decided to get the G valve again. I'm getting it sent from NI, i think it's £25 quid or so. Looking at other forums about the D i see posts of losing torque etc down low. My original G valve lasted 40k so i'm happy with that. By the time the next one goes there should be more reviews on the D.

BTW my symptoms are the car feels like it's lost 50bhp or so. There are no missfires etc. Also there is a different sound coming from the EVOM's like there is a constant hiss from it, like it's on "let off mode" all the time.

Micheal..

Tough luck on the DV.. give Brendan in TMC cars a shout..( done all the work on my car ) he fitted the new version to his and would give you honest opinion

Hi Cathal, ah it's not really a problem, simple fix anyway i wa s more fed up about one of my tyres bursting during the week with no apparent reason, side wall ripped:O. The car has been remapped since 800 miles were on the clock:D. I thought it wouldn't even last 40k(miles):)

Why is no one recommending the Forge one?

They come in threes.. so go hit your thumb with a hammer :D berfore something else breaks...

I lost 2 fronts in a double blowout just after Christmas.. scary

forge one can be just as troublesome, requires servicing and spares too

Also i believe the OEM ones have better throttle response and holding boost better. Read a thread on vortex where logs were done and the OEM performs better. I had bought a Forge but after reading the thread on vortex i sold it on.

I think this maybe the third :D, first i bricked my MFD3, tyre and then DV.

i seem to have lost boost lower down the rev range on mine, but one thing i have noticed, is that like you say it feels as if it is releasing boost all the time, which is pretty noticable as i have the forge spacer on mine and its on way more than before

Mine has gone for 50k.

I had the new valve fitted. It looks better built and hope will be stable for much long but who knows he he.

I work as a techy at a skoda dealer and we only sell the d version as the old one has been superseeded by skoda, ive got the d version fitted with no issues, they do look meatier and better built. ive got no probs with loss of boost etc if anything i personaly think it pulls stronger

So that means the G i ordered will probably come as a D?

Forge do supply the service kit FOC and does not take long to do to be fair

01452 380999 is their number , and excellent customer service ;)

We deal with them and have nothing but praise for their customer service , John is excellent

(just dont tell him I said that ) ;)

Totally agree, definitely no loss of low down torque on mine ;)

£48  Who is ripping people off?? Name and shame:rolleyes:. I just paid £26.24 for mine;) and 4 quid post from a NI skoda dealer. The only valve you know can get is the D valve. i ordered mine as a G and got the D.:)

OEM valves perform a lot better than the Forge one IMO

I fitted a Forge one after splitting my first (a revision C iirc) and for around 10-12k miles it was fine. Then it started sticking and needed a service (or so i thought) got a Kit sent from Forge FOC within 2 days (top Cust Serv IMHO) however when i took it off i also found that one nipple off the Solenoid had broke. Originally Forge were going to charge me £25 for this however i mentioned that on here and they sent it to me FOC with 2m of Silicone Hosing (outstanding Customer Service if you ask me - Custom Tuning take note :P)

However i then relocated the DV to the KO4 position and seem to get better throttle response and a bit more pull lower down as it keeps it operating at OEM spec.

I guess really it's horses for courses. Whatever you feel works best for your car. The New D Valves do look as if they wont break/split. However i have seen that a few people have had issues with them.

Just looking at my D valve and doesn't seem to be a diaphram like the older one. Yeah i read on vortex the vagcom logs were better with the OEM valves.
