Are octys scary?

Featured Replies

I was in a big of a hurry this morning and pushing on a bit.

I've never known a car that gets people out the way as well as my Octy. Even driving my old man's company BMW wasn't as good. Some of them were diving out the way and I wasn't flashing or tailing at all.

Mine is blue and I don't have xenons so I don't look much like plod.

Just another benefit of Skud ownership I suppose :D

Is it silver or blue? They probably think you're an unmarked car :D

bet it's not as good at getting people out the way as my ben's girlfriend's Vectra, with HIDs :D

from what i can recall, from the deepest, darkest recess of my memory, people did seem to get out the way of ben's octavia too. either that or flag you down to drive them home from the pub...

It's race blue. Black north face jacket and white shirt maybe helped too :D

Me and my mate wear high vis vests on the way to work down the motorway. Usually have white shirts on underneath.....the sad thing is we bought the vets for that purpose as we work in an office :D

It gets people out the way down the M6

There is a stretch of motorway near me which is constantly patrolled by unmarked cars 80% of which are black with a handful being skodas.... I only twigged to why everyone was slowing down while overtaking me doing 65-70mph a few weeks back.

You tend to get a little glance from the overtaking drive and then the power gets put back on

That IS sad. Fact.

What good is a vet?:rofl:

They help put your cat down like mine did today.

in this situation.....NONE at all ;)

High viz jacket, plus get your passenger to use a blue powerball :D

Powerball the exercise machine for building up your salami slapping muscles.

I've only got a white signature edition one:D

It happens to me all the time.

Not complaining. It gets me home quicker as the German brigade move aside :D

Sit in lane one at with headlights on dipped at 60MPH... as soon as a beamer goes hurtling past at 90 in lane three, pull into lane two & start accelerating... then just watch the beamer...

Smell it? He's likely to be sitting in it! :D:thumbup:

Not that I would ever do such a thing...

Interesting that, as I was in lane 1 pulling out to three to overtake a member of the MLOC and as i started pulling out a porker came on damn fast from the slip road, across all three lanes and started tanking it down the fast lane.

Two of us in the car in white shirts and he must have seen me come out accelerating.

The guy slowed to 65, pulled in to the middle and then when i pulled in kept at 65 until he was past the next junction and then pulled in another lane and looks towards us. Waits a bit, realises we were not an unmarked car and he was out of sight in a lot less than 30 seconds.

Lol - this thread made my day - I get the same reactions! :D

Back in the day the same happened with Senators then big Volvos 850s its happened a few times with my Fabia too, guess its the shape of the grill they see then note what car it is.....

Tis good fun.

Done a simlair one in my dads octy on the m74.

Was cruising along at 60mph heading home in the early hours, a van hurtles past me easily doing a ton ( and then some probably), I move into lane 2 and accelerate after him( to within the law allowed obviously..) and sat on his tail as he slowly dropped his speeds to 70. Was a giggle.

Mine scares me, but only with what will go wrong next with the thing! Always waiting for the next error light to come on.
