Nearside mirror dip on reverse

Featured Replies

Is there any coding that can be enable that will automatically dip the nearside mirror when reverse gear is selected?

I dont think there is, as it requires an additional controller thats only present if you have electric seats.

only if you have electric memory seats

That sucks, i had it on an Audi A4 previously & it was very useful. Admittedly it did have electric seats too though!!

As already said you don't get dipping mirrors unless you have Electric Memory Seats

I guess then that the dipping mirror feature use the same memory as the electric seats, so without them there is no spare memory for the dipped/non-dipped positions to be saved

Also, there is missing the potentiometer in the mirrors.

My maxidot says it can do it, but i've never bothered....

But still it wont work. Mine says it too (but lacking the memory seats...... :o)

It wont work im afraid unless you have got Electric Memory Seats.

I tried enabling it with VCDS and nothing happened

I did the same - and now I know why nothing happened! Presumed it was something like a missing controller. Bit strange IMO it's linked in with the seats, but there you go :)

I have an 07 plate L&K with the electric memory seat option but only the LH mirror will dip in reverse (as long as I have the mirror adjusting control on L)

Is there any way to get the RH mirror to dip in reverse (presumably if the switch is set to R) ?

Nope... I think the idea with just the LH dipping is so you can see the curb when reversing & still see behind you in the RH mirror.

...you could programme one of the memory buttons to dip just the mirrors though! :)

Great idea thanks ! Only have 1 and 2 programmed for myself and my wife so 3 could be used for the mirrors - will go and play when its light !

Not sure if this is what you mean but this is what it says in the FL's manual

dont think the R has come out but thats what its supposed to read when knob is in position R.... :orb_no_no
