Which insurance companies will handle modified cars ?

Featured Replies

It's perhaps the case that a lot of people with cars which are re-mapped, lowered and have aftermarket wheels don't inform their insurance company. I'm up for renewal and although not remapped (yet) I was wondering if there was any specialist insurance companies that will handle a slightly modified Skoda and properly cover it for those kinds of mods ?

any help would be great

I'm 33years old, no points, loads of no-claims, live in the Blackpool area and am bieng asked for somewhere around £270-£300 including protected no-claims and including legal cover etc

Cheers.

Adrian Flux have specialist schemes for moddified cars and also full members get up to 15% discount.

Try Sky Insurance but I just saved £150 with Chris Knott, with more mods than whats in my sig.

Awesome service as well.

Im with Direct Line,

Whiteline RARB, front strut braces upper and lower, silicone turbo hoses (no increase), I did ask about remap and they would increase policy depending on % output power gain.

NB: I have been with them for about 15 years

I didn't think direct line touched modified cars at all :(

i'm with adrian flux , pretty happy with them tbh , good service and seem efficient

I'm with Noel Dazely. Premium went up for the remap but not for brakes/suspension etc.

I didn't think direct line touched modified cars at all :(

I know I was surprised, based on 20% power increase if I had it re-mapped (yet to do), was told my policy would increase by about £60.

Before I added the rarb and other bits (ie forge dump valve etc) I phone to check, the mods are now listed on my latest insurance schedule.

NB: I am an oldie, maybe it makes a difference:).

DirectLine will insure mods on over 25s only.

NB: I am an oldie' date=' maybe it makes a difference:).

I always wince when my dad tells me what he pays for his Subaru Impreza Turbo a year. :rotz: It's under £300 fully comp. That's called being old and with grey Hair! :)

Sorry for being slightly off-topic.

I went through chris knott and ended with Highways. they seem pretty good but need to call them soon to find out if handling mods affect my policy at all.
