That RAIN CLOSING again....

Featured Replies

Now many of my finnish colleagues seem to say, that RAIN CLOSING, if you click it ON from the maxi dot, doesn`t stay ON, a.ka it`s disabled next time you start the car. Is this right ? And I tried it just a few minutes ago, put it ON, opened the windows, turned the engine off, and locked the doors. Then sprayed water on the sensor, and NOTHING. :confused:

In finnish translated manual it says that RAIN CLOSING only works on those cars that have rain sensor and THEN IT CONTROLS THE ELECTRIC SUN ROOF (and of course then windows also). So does it work at all if I have the rain sensor but not the sun roof...?

:eek:

I seem to remember talk of this being a "safety" feature, for dogs being in the car etc?

I think it only works when the engine is running, in the same way that the electric windows and sunroof only work with the key in the ignition.

Or

Possibly only works if you have the wiper stalk set to the auto position rather than off.

I just tried it also when the motor was running, and wipers on AUTO, and nothing....

You set it before you leave the car (with roof and/or windows open). When you return and unlock the car, it resets so that you must set it every time you think you'll need it. Seems fair enough to me. :)

Ray.

Rain closing is on full time on ours, via maxidot and we have no sunroof.

New update for Skoda Superb II owners!

09.Cent Elect->Coding->Long Coding

Byte04 - Bit 6 selected -> Most of us have it already selected and it represents the activation of the Rain-Closing but not in the permanent mode(deactivation after starting again the engine)

Bit 5 selected -> Rain Closing will become permanent all the time(I just tested it)

Good Luck with it!:thumbup:

not being a tech person how do we set this bit?
