Heated Washer nozzles

Featured Replies

Ok, so if my Superb ever arrives (see my post on delivery times), how do I tell if the £30 worth of heated washer nozzles is actually fitted?

Good question: I decided the pair of wires under the bonnet, leading to each nozzle was a reasonble tell-tale.

I have them too, will be interesting to see how well they actually work. Roll on the Winter......kidding

I had them on my last car and they still froze :)

I still put them on the superb though for £30 lets hope they make a difference

I have a little question. What's the purpose of this heated nozzles?Firstly I never had problems on my last car with them, they were still working even at -20 Celsius.Secondly, everytime I used them at those degrees the so-called Winter Screenwash was turned into ice,and I tried many of them, even a bottle of 5 litres that was around 12 euros.Maybe I was lucky, but I wonder if they really do the job because it's an easy retrofit.

i think its really tight that they dont put them on. my 2001 passat has them as standard !

The easiest way to solve the problem with freezing nozzles is to use a washing fluid with a certain amount of alcohol in it. I live far north i Scandinavia with winter temp often below 35 Centigrades. Never had any problem with freezing nozzles

Too much alcohol can damage wiper blades and more importantly the seal around the windscreen

I see you say its a easy retro fit dose that mean the plugs are already there?

I have them and work ok, however at really cold temperatures the washer bottle freezes rendering the heated nozzles useless.
