Retrofitting VAG cruise control

Featured Replies

I have seen a step by step conversion guide on a site but looks a bit complicated and time consuming for me. Does anyone know a company who can do the job but isnt too pricey?

Am looking at some other of the optional extras that were available on the Fabia, Im pretty unlucky as my vRS has nothing other than standard spec. Looking into the underseat CD changer at moment and also heated seats, but getting all the bits for that could prove quite expensive, and looking at the xenons a bit too pricey.

Just out of interest;

What was standard spec?

What was an optional extra?

Sorry, i know thats probably been asked loads of time - But while your on the subject and all that! ;)

Give Lummox a shout he should be able to help you out.

CC was an option on the Fabia as was a CD Changer, side airbags, xenon headlights, maxidot/navigation, esp and probably a couple of other things I can't quite remember at the moment.

Oh, then I have have the side airbags if you mean the ones on the side of the seat bolsters?

add heated seats and after 2006 the black leather was an option. I think thats most of the extras.

Il give Lummox a shout, Thanks VRStu

Either chap at Unit 18 (don't forget Ali) will be able to put it in for you.. I went over last week and Ali did a top notch job! (the coffee's not bad either)!... and they have biscuits!

.. oh, nearly forgot.. £160 all in....

A little further down than Unit 18 but I had mine fitted at VassTech.

Fantastic guy's, mine worked out cheaper than £160 as they did me a deal price for service, MOT, brake fluid and cruise fitting. VAG trained and VAG approved parts.

It's already saved me a few quid by setting it at 65mph rather than sitting at 70mph on the m-way. 5mph less saved around 40% fuel by my (crude) calculations.
