Question on proposed new VRS Fabia

Featured Replies

I think the 1.9 VRS was well ahead of its time - and diesel is now very much in vogue ... I think they should stick to diesel or go for broke with a 200BHP+ hot hatch to take on the Golf and Scirocco. Anything else is "just another warm hatch". I really don't know why they cannot use the same engines as the Octavia VRS.

Diesel isn't in vogue... small turbo petrol engines are, since diesel efficiency improvement has slowed considerably, whereas petrol still has a lot more in it. You can now buy a 1.4 petrol car that's got the power and more torque of a 1.8 N/A petrol engine. Along with 1.4 economy and emissions.

Skoda already has a version of the Golf GTi... it's called the Octavia vRS. Why would Skoda dilute their marketplace like that? It makes no sense.

The Fabia vRS is a warm hatch. Same as the Ibiza Cupra. Same as the Polo GTi.

So, as I've said... 1.4TSI and 1.6CR TDI seem to be the logical choices, based on similar cars on the platforms and market position of the car.

Decron: I'll send all my payments in one go, once I've cleared this up, ok?

to be honest i don't even think there will be a new Fabia VRS............

to be honest i don't even think there will be a new Fabia VRS............

That - of course - is still a possibility!

I've edited the quote for accuracy..

Oh, and I've said it before and I'll say it again.. oh noes! Not one lost sale! What exactly do you think you will accomplish with this statement? Do you honestly think that Skoda will read this and say "oh my, well, we'd better panda to this man's needs...

"You have said it before and you will say it again"

Says it ALL

Not one lost sale but many of a similar persuasion then

You know how I got my first Furby

It was lying dead in a VW/AUDI garage, in an upmarket town, no one would touch it SNOB value

I got a brilliant car for pennies and YES that is why I like my FURBY VRS apart from the interior and gadgets it knocks spots off the Audi (maybe I can drive better than most Audi drivers, I dont know)

Maybe I am blinkered to the brand, for previously I had had brand new company cars every six months (for 32 years) all crap and toothless (escort, fiesta, corsa, pug 206) then circumstances made me search and buy my own car

As I said I want a Furby sized car, I like the four doors and the torque, and if I can not buy like for like, then yes I will have to be off Furbies do not last forever and need to be renewed

It is no good a company offering me a three ton stretched limo as a replacement model

National (the tractor engine does me fine 130bhp)
