I need the information quit soon, as I may have to send it back if there is a problem with the interface

The two antenna ones are to be expected. The other one is no communication with the CAN Gateway.

The printout doesn't show what the current longcode is.

Your bigger problem IMHO is that you have a 'Bitsa' unit. The sticker on the side (looked in your other post) says it's a 1Z unit however the diagnostics report it as a 3T Superb II unit.

Send it back and ask for a 1Z unit which is what I'm assuming you bought from eBay.

Oh and it's not a VAG-COM readout it's a VAS dealer tool print. ;)

so what is the difference between the 2 units, my guess is the 3T will only work in the superb, sorry for asking I dont know these things

What unit do I ask for apart from the 1Z

Yes the 3T unit is normally used with the Superb and the 1Z used with the Octavia II. 1Z/3T refers to the chassis - look at your cars chassis number.

OK, that's a bit weird, the computer is saying it's a 3T, but the label on the unit says 1Z. That said, on the picture the label does look kind of tampered with?

By the way skippy, you might want to remove your security code from your radio pictures.

It does happen. My Golf has a RNS 510 from the factory. I recently saw one that had all the correct stickers - 3T in our case but looking closer we found it had a 7L board from a Toerag.

The unit worked however his MFSW didn't.

Is this the labbel you meen

Pic 2 and 3 it does start with 1Z though????

To agree with Stu. You are correct, the picture does show that the label starts with 1Z but the actual hardware in the unit says otherwise (3T)

Also taking another look at your pics there are far too many warranty stickers on there for my liking. A standard new unit would have one on each case joint at most. If you look carefully I'll bet you'll see the original ones have been split at some point.

The majority of the "refurbed" units on Ebay tend to be repaired DOA units from dealers, unless the seller has a vast stock of new parts for these (doubtful) then he/she will probably just swap cards/components until they get a working unit.

Hope this helps

The unit you purchased from Ebay is a factory refurb, as they all are. The only place you can get a new one from officially is Skoda themselves for £1.5K. Chances are the 1Z unit had a faulty mainboard, and was replaced at the factory with a 3T units board. The rest of the hardware is the same.

Agree with Ali regarding the warranty void stickers too, mine's not like that. Looks like you've got a right old mongral of a unit there Skippy.

The fascia looks like the 3T fascia with Columbus printed in the middle unless they've started doing that with the 1Z unit now.

Hence the lower than average price?

Mine is a 1Z0 on the sticker, 1Z0 in the hidden menu & in Vagcom... yet still won't work with the MFSW :(

Snap!

Who actually makes these units?????? Pioneer blaupunkt???????

Siemens

Siemens

So basically those cheap Chinese models that are on ebay are made by the same company, and basically all they need to do is get the units to talk to the car and you could have a better set up and a choice of map provider.and built in blue-tooth

The only thing I was disappointed with when I got one, (yes it went back) apart from the maps not loading was it did not turn on and off with the ignition

Yeah, maps not loading is a fairly fundamental problem for a sat nav.

The chinese bunch are not manufactured by Siemens, they are fabricated by a "company" called Witson somewhere in China.

Update, seller sent another unit and it arrived today, got sound from the sat nav but nothing else nothing from Cd's DVDs radio or SD card, nothing would load tried every button on the set up menu pulled it out and re boxed it, stream radio works well so should the MFD3, the inside aerial connector was broken and the security labels had been split. so its going back and i am getting a full refund from ebay.

I may as well try one of these http://www.szwaywell.com/prod_dtl.asp?id=446

Yeah, get the Waywell WD6019. It looks AWESOME. It's got the two SD slots which you yearned for on the MFD3. I might get my MFD3 up on ebay today and join you in getting one.

You've had 4 sat navs with no joy now, do you ever just think it's not meant to be? :)
