Mr Warwick just failed. Didnt read properly and assumed. It was a petrol he raced for a start, not a TDi.

But thanks for your help...

Think you can change the swap the block over from a Mk3 2.0 GTi and run it with the 16v K-Jet head thats usually mated to the 1.8 engine. Not supposed to do that much bhp-wise but is supposed to give you a good slug more torque.

Sorry mate, but I personally think thats a dead shocking slow time? I assume your 0-60ft times (please look on your slip) where nearer 3 seconds? 2.7 maybe? and a 330ft time of 7 seconds?!

I ran my Ibiza with the same engine, with very similar power (RR'd at 170.9bhp and 273lb.ft) and ran a 14.7. Most people with PD130's with abit more power, 170bhpish run low 15's

However your terminal speeds arent too bad, just a few mph down, so id say its all your launch that gave you a slow time. Post up a slip mate.

i dont think so.... there was two mapped fabia's at the recent day i went to and they both had a few funs and were getting around 16's with about the same sort of terminal speed 89ish mph...

thing is with the fabia's there quick as up until around 80/90 and then after that it all goes pete tong

Oh and my best was a 15.55 in my new car at 91... could take a second off i'd say just need more practice :D done a 97 terminal also on one run but got a **** poor start

Oh and heres a pic of the only race i won...

others were against a Lotus Elise... same engine as mine but weighs the same as a postage stamp...

2 runs against an M3

I will rephrase, I know so! I dont think that is slow, I know it is. the two mapped fabia's couldnt launch for gravy either, hense the slow times. I think ive been a little mis-understood. Im not saying that he "should" have got a 14.7 or low 15. Im saying he "could" the car... "can" the driver "cant"

16.3 in the wet. Bog standard :)

See? This is how I know it "can"

my re mapped fabia ran 15 dead,i think t sparks right 16 odd seconds is shocking, should have been low 15's

Just found my times for the day. Best one was below

16.338 sec sec

0.515 sec

2.893 sec

88.4 mph mph

Left lane

If I get the same times when my car is mapped, i wont be a happy bunny..

Thanks for posting the time, this shows that your terminal speed is spot on mate (and the quote you mention with similar speeds for 2 x mapped cars shows its either 2 x crap maps, or they had cement in the boot) reason for this is terminal speed is roughly based on bhp per ton. Once remapped they should be getting 93mph give or take, and hybrid see 98-101mph.

The 2.893 I assume is to 60ft and tbh id say is ok, but could be better even on a standard car. Id hope for 2.5 sec standard with a heavy launch which would then mean high 15's on a standard car.

Once mapped 2.2/2.3 secs and high 14's/low 15's depending on map.

I ran a 14.6 at Crail with mapped 162bhp.

Jeez just goes to show you it's all in the starts... think my 60ft was like 2.600

im getting the idea terminal speed will show a car's true pace on the open road...

my times are like a second off a mapped fabia but running i blitz them

My PB to 60ft is 2.068 or something at Pod last year, I *think* I would have got a faster 60ft time at Inters, but it doesnt work out ur 60ft time

yeah my buddy with the hybrid fabia got a 1.800 jammy git

1.8 second 0-60ft time? What 1/4 did it run and terminal!?

It was wet :P :o

14.4 and 94 or 97 cant really remember...

it was the old yellow star performance car which was 210bhp and 310lb/ft torque... its running a tweaked map now though so around 220

Hmm was that @ Santa Pod? As a 1.8 to 60ft should get silly fast times?! Not a 14.4?

Nah it was at an old airfield... was run by the santa pod lot...

its hard to compare on different days / strips.. theres gona be differences i'd say... a lad told me that times at the strip were around .5 - 1.0's down on the likes of the pod... due to the bumps etc...

i just took it with a pinch of salt :)

Well yeah people do say that but thats all in the launch area where 'bumps' can effect the times so much, but with a 1.8 second to 60ft thats like very strange... Id look at it this way, if my PB of 13.5 was a similar 60ft time (based on the 2.0 second dead with a 13.8) then I was basically 1 second quicker after 60ft to the 1/4 than ya mate? Running same power? Strange one, but hey.

lol well thats all it got... its the old star car... hybrid pd150... seat sport fmic... brembo's... kw v1's... bmc cda.... sachs clutch...
