Indicator Stalk Advice Needed

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have a 1999 Skoda Octavia SLXi, the indicator stalk is faulty and needs to be replaced. Is it possible to change the stalk without removing the steering wheel? I have a haynes manual but its a bit lacking in the details department to be honest.

Thanks

Jon

In a word no.

You'll need to whip off the airbag and steering wheel first.

Damn it, was afraid of that, thanks for your help :) I will tackle this tomorrow :)

Remove the battery -ve before removing the airbag. You'll need a splined tool to remove the steering wheel, remember to mark the position before you pull it off.

Look at the CC install guide on my fabia website, it's quite similar to an Octy I.

Thanks mate, I don't think I have a splined tool, might be able to borrow one though. What is your website mate?

Thank you

Jon

Click the links in VRStu s signature for the web sites. A word of caution, treat airbags very carefully and do not rotate the airbag slip ring when it is all apart.
