I dont think this would happen with the fabia paintwork, and normally this happens due to ppl who just dont give a .....

Simpsons of Preston now have a red FL vRS (petrol manual) as well as a white FL vRS (petrol DSG) in the showroom.

They also still have a petrol LE lurking around the back.

Weird you don't get the choice to pay extra for heated leather seats in the UK, but they are std equipment here in Oz. Given the climates of the two places you'd think it would be the other way around

Out of you choices it would have to be Black for me, which I have :-)

Reason being for me my old Octy II 2.0Tdi was in Anthracite which I traded in for the vRS and I once had a Nissan Primera SRi in the Race Blue, so it was Black for me.

I have never seen a red car that does not suffer from this, be it Skoda, VW, Audi, Vauxhall, ........ every car I see of older years has this problem.

I was lead to believe that this was due to red paints not being sealed and then oxidising.

older years yes...I see more than few pink puntos and corsas..but they are ancient

my mk1 was red and was still red when it was 4 years old and changed to the mk2

FTM I have seen a 03 Fabia was it was pink.

These days even solid colours tend to have a top coat of lacquer applied (like metallics always have) and this stops the paint oxidising. In the case of red paint, going pink.

If you T-cut a red car that has gone pink, it should go back to red as the T-cut will remove the oxidised paint.

It is easier to keep the car waxed in the first place and stop this happening. The top coat of lacquer can oxidise as well, and in this case the car will lose its shine.

White - has been good as its kinda retro RS escortish (they were always white in my eyes)........ I think its had its day now, reached popularity on GTI's Audi TT's sciroccos for past 2 years and now somehow doesnt look "as cool" anymore.....

I think Black always looks devilish especially with neptune alloys - Race Blue is a bit sheepy....ie it does look amazing but then so do the other thousands of race blue ones

Shame we cant get a tahiti blue which is darker and deeper than race blue.....used to have it on a rover tomcat and it was gorgeous....

Anyway -- Black it is!
