Can the windscreen washer jets be adjusted?

Featured Replies

As above,

Can the washer jet angle be adjusted? Doesn't look like the jets have any way of adjustment.

On my mk4 Golf u could adjust the fan up or down. On the fabia it looks like they can't be moved?

dont think they can...

think you can adjust them with a pin, maybe wrong though as usual

No you cant. If you damage the square orifice of the jet the spray pattern will be permanently altered.

If the spray pattern has deteriorated its usually due to deposits in the jet. Either buy new jets or in my case I removed them (they pull off their hose) and soaked them in warm vinegar and brushed the orifice with a tooth brush - worked for me - simples.

IMO the standard spray pattern is fine until the jets start to get blocked.

new jets are very cheap too

Why not repair if its possible - if only to prove your "manlyness" - replacing is for whimps when its not necessary?

id rather spend the £3 and 20 seconds putting new ones in that 'faffing about' trying to clean them, i dont have much free time as it is

For some things the DIY fix is the easiest. Even if you buy new youve still got to remove and replace the jets. For me its a 35 mile round trip for me to the dealer - and it always seems to take two trips - one to order and the other to pick the item up.

You can always try and brush the jets whilst still on the car - tried it with a cup of warm vinegar- seems to work. Still on original jets at 5 years old.

I'd still rather do the 30mins clean myself....it will cost you £3 plus diesel and time.....you could have got you malt vinegar out by then..

And if it happens again you know what to do and save more money to go towards all the vinegar you be using.
