I dont think they're common as muck. I only ever see about 1 a week. Strangely though, I already seem to see as many Fabia RS's as Octavia RS's. They must be selling well.

The other thing is they are so good value for money people are taking note and buy something that isn't going to fall apart rather than buying a run of the mill car eg. Focus, Fiesta etc.

Barring any meets I've seen a total of 6 in the 5 months of ownership (excluding dealer demo's) so I dont think they are that common. Whilst chatting to the salesman at Landrover, he didn't even know what is was after chatting to him about it he seemed very keen in one! lol

Tell me about it, I was one of the first to pick one up and as i went driving down the road I came up to a yellow one on a test drive. Now whenever I go to meets there there are loads of black ones about and even a few near where I live. It's starting to get me down :(

i have seen in the last week about 10 of them excluding the ones at work well counted them once

I was thinking to myself that they are fairly exclusive (I'm one of 3 octavia vRS at my work, see the same 3 or 4 more weekly, here in East Mids).

I actually see a LOAD of Civic-type-R's though, they're LESS exclusive me thinks

When I was over to the UK for five days in July, visiting the Festival of Speed at Goodwood, my average was 3 per hour. And yes, mostly black... The pesky little cars were everywhere.

The record was 3 in 5 minutes along the Bognor Regis boulevard! (It was an empty boulevard - before you think it did well as a pick-up magnet. )

However, it should sell being the bargain that it is in the UK. Here, the car never took off because of being the first Skoda that was actually too expensive. In fact, it's been discontinued now...

Come down to Canterbury then - SimonT lives there and i've seen his but i've also seen about another 6 or 7 4x4s just in Canterbury in the last couple of weeks .... having said that Canterbury does seem to be Skoda capital of England and I do see tons of all the variants In fact two houses along from mine have 2 Skodas, the next house has 1, the next 2 etc etc !

Yes,common as muck.Saw a red fabia vRS on the way to stourbridge last night.Trip to Coventry this morning and saw the following octy's

Black one in Cannock.Silver one in Brownhills,red one near Mere Green and finally.......a battenburg police car trying to jump start a hot dog van on the coventry road! (causing chaos on the dual carriageway)

I'm going to have to get an exclusive classic lada or trabant

Being from Broadstairs, I reckon our oap population of basic Fabias outdoes Canterburys!!! Mines the only hatch Octy VRS i've seen in my neck of the woods, even the dealers don't have any. Tobins of Canterbury were offering a silver 4x4 hatch for 6995 on an 02 plate. They've been advertising it since at least February.

Must confess,most cars just merge into the background when I'm out and about.The only cars that really catch my eye are skodas ( how sad is that!) or exotica

As to the latter,seeing a Lambo Murceliago (no I can't spell it without looking it up!) in bright orange dawdling through walsall town centre does stand out.As did the fantastic Lamborghini Gallardo in gleaming black parked up in Birmingham one day ( the best looking supercar on sale )

But yes,I see lots and lots of vRS's.Fabias,octy's (new and old),superbs.As I say,I just think thats all I really notice in the sea of mundane cars out there.

When all is said and done, the Fab vRS is STILL relatively rare. I am on the roads to/from work everyday and MAY see 1 a fortnight. When you compare that to almost every other production hatch they ARE still rare.

Got mine new sept 04 and STILL people stare, so I guess they ain't seen many either.

if they can get past the badge! Most "barryboys" would rather have a VW than skoda.................which I'm rather pleased about!

I've started noticing them now, I was working in Warsop the other day and on the way home just coming out of the place spotted two yellow Octy vRSs' within about 5 minutes of each other then about 10 minutes later spotted a silver one! Fabia vRS is a much harder spot.

If you are talking about standard Octavias that's a different story, virtually every taxi were I live is one.
