Rear Tdi Badge

Featured Replies

Actually I believe the Diesel version of those GTI Golfs are badged as GT PD.

 decided to remove my Fabia and TDI badge off at the weekend, and keep them stored somewhere... I'm going for a stealth mode (a la matt) :D - hope you haven't trademarked the look, Matt? :p

Why not get a badge of the mk2 golf GT Tdi. Would go, and probably would'nt be too far from the truth ;)

I thought that the VW Bora with the 150bhp engine had a red TDI on the back.

I wonder whether somebody might be able to find me the part number for the "4x4 turbo" badge? I'm considering putting one on the front grille. Oh, and what about the 1.4 16v one, just in case I change my mind and do a "U" turn? :color: I've decided to either go for the stealth option (1.4 16v) or make a fuss about the 4x4t.

100 :mw:

I couldn't decide whether to debadge \ rebadge so I just removed the "colours" from my badge.

From a distance most will have no idea, looks like a silver bar, only close up can you read the sunken "4X4turbo" lettering.

Is the perfect compromise IMO

Don't suppose you have a piccie?

Nope but I'll take one when I get to the car park tonight.

(will be mucky, as my car always is, but will give you an idea)

The "background" behind the colours is a coarse surface, works quite well.

Badge off works quite well - as no one can even get a clue as to what you're driving, apart from a Skoda of course. The fact someone behind me will get a face full of soot when I boot it gives a clue, and the 17s don't help with the subtlety factor either.

Told you it would be mucky, but here you go...

(viewed here you can't read the lettering, click to enlarge and you can, hence my point about being discreet unless you get close up :D)

How did you do it? And does anyone have the part no.? I'm bound to mess it up and need the insurance of a "second life".

Well the process was started for me when I bought the car...

When I test drove it, it was an "x4 turbo"

When I collected it, it was an "X turbo"

When I first jetwashed it, it became just "turbo"...

The remaining letters, sat down with a pin \ needle and lifted the letters out, they are a rubber compound and you just stab in the middle and lift, comes out in one clean piece - very easy job.

Simon, tell your dealer what you want and he will identify the right part for you. The 4X4turbo badge is separate from the Octavia badge above it but comes on the same 'backing' paper, ie you have to buy both as a package. Cost is circa

When I first jetwashed it, it became just "turbo"...

 So the experience put you off carwashing for life?

Seriously, thanks to both of you. DGW: I was hoping to just 'phone the parts guy and ask him to order it in, but next time I'm in I'll ask.

Si

lol, I do a lot of miles, car is currently on 60k, don't get much chance to clean it, too busy driving it.

(and that includes weekends when the RS boys are lovingly washing and polishing :D)

Ask for this part, Si, but get the dealer to confirm it is what you want. As I mentioned earlier, it should come complete with the Octavia badge - but ask if you can just have the 4X4 bit.

1U0 853 687 L KTP - inscription 4X4 TURBO.

9/00 KTP chrome/red/black

and the 1.4 16V badge is:

1U0 853 687 A FXC

Other 4X4 badge options for the rear are:

4X4 2.0 - K

4X4 TDI - M (66KW)

4X4 TDI - J (74KW)

In each case the first 9 digits of the part number are the same - just tag on the letter K, M or J as appropriate, then KTP. I assume there is some colour difference between the 66 and 74KW TDI badges.

[Edited to add KTP/FXC to the part numbers.]

Hmm, I could order a 4x4TDi badge?

You certainly could, Ian, but not much point if you are going to continue power-washing your car. :(

DGW: I was hoping to just 'phone the parts guy and ask him to order it in' date=' but next time I'm in I'll ask.

Si[/quote']

I was actually explaining, and admitting defeat, rather than asking for yet MORE help, but thanks for looking! I'll phone up tomorrow.

Just to clarify, in case anyone else is planning on getting one of these badges (!) that the number is 1U0 853 687 L KTP. I missed the KTP bit.

Hi, first post but have got a lot to think about on this forum. My 04 Octavia has a red I on the rear boot lid (i'm told this denotes 110bhp) but when I look at all the codes on the service book and inside the boot it tells me 66kw which I've been led to believe is 90bhp. Can any body clarify for me please. I've just bought the car form a garage and would have thought they should have noticed the discepancy if there is one. Hlp much appreciated.

If it's a Classic or Ambiente it will be a 90bhp engine with a 5 speed gearbox.

An Elegance with a 5 speed gearbox is a 110bhp.

An Elegance or Ambiente SE with a 6 speed gearbox is a 130bhp engine.

On the Audi A2

TDI = 75 bhp

TDI = 90 bhp.

If anyone is interested. :)

Mines a 1.9 TDI

I'm certain it's 100hp
