Octavia - Remote Control Keys

Featured Replies

One of my remote control keys started playing up last week. Sometimes it worked OK, other times it did nothing, and the little LED didn't flash.

The handbook says that the key isn't user-serviceable. HAH! :D After a bit of investigation, I worked out how to get it apart, discovered the deposits of pocket fluff over everything, and cleaned it out with a soft brush. It's as good as new, now.

Here's a step-by-step guide.

Excellent. Maybe we should put that in the FAQ for those of us who don't have the newer folding style key.

one of my folding style remote c/l keys has packed up.

How long do the batteries last in them anyway??

The cars one year old

The key-light on my ignition key gave up the ghost very quickly, so I thought "sod it!" and bought myself a micro-cyba-lite, which is 1000000 times brighter anyway. :D

You boys with your key lights and your folding keys - sheesh!
