Octavia Vrs Windscreen - Grey Or Green?

Featured Replies

Just getting windcreen replacement ordered, courtesy of stone this morning putting what is now a foot long crack in it. "Is your windscreen grey or green?" I'm looking at the bl**dy thing, and I still can't tell. It's a silver car, grey windscreen I think. With a greenish tint? Argh!

Anyone got a definitive answer?

Stef

Not an answer, but phone your dealer. If he doesn't know, change dealers ;)

Q.

Been there had a new screen fitted by autoglass in March 02, the RS windscreen is grey tinted.

Just had a stone chip repaired on mine (not quite an invisble mend, but should be good enough to get through its MOT next year).

I was told that, if I wanted it replaced in the future, to specify "green with a grey top tint".

Mine's grey; 52 reg RS.

Previous W reg SLX TDi was green.

Cheers.

Adrian.

I think the facelift ones are grey and the older ones green. the RS is most defo grey with a grey tint

Yep , my facelift 01 RS is grey screen , previous SLXi pre facelift was green tinted.

I think the company wants to know the colour of the sun band - not the screen tint

Pre facelift Octavias - green sun band

facelift Octavia inc RS - grey sun band

Had a screen replaced in preface lift from green to newer grey band had an OE one ordered by dealer and fitted by windscreen co

- tints look exactly the same. I seem to remember that the grey band screen is now the only one available as an OE part from Skoda.
