Unmarked Volvo V50 A1-M1

Featured Replies

Saw an unmarked dark blue Volvo V50 on the A1-M1 link road near Leeds. Totally kitted out inside with technology. Huge camera in rear window possibly for ANPR? Two uniformed officers upfront.

Reg plate YJ05 OEU (mods, am I allowed to post this?)

I know the usual comments of if you're not doing owt wrong...... blah..... blah..... but it's better to be in the know than not. Plus who can honestly say they never go over the speed limit? :thumbup:

I w*rk near the J.41 compound and regularly see many different unmarked cars heading out to trap the unsuspecting. They've even got a Fiat Doblo van with LED strobes scruffily cut into the blacked-out rear windows. There is/was a green 5 series estate, a burgundy 5 series saloon, at least 3 V50's (2x black) and some Vectra's amongst others. Oh, and the Helicopter flies from the same place too.

The simple thing is to not speed excessively in this area. Up to 85 should keep them sweet unless your car interests them for any other reasons (obviously shabby or flagged on ANPR). Excessive speeding on m-ways leaves you a sitting duck really, it's just so easy for them to spot you, and it's hardly challenging either.

best you slow down then :mad:

On the motorway I always try to be the second fastest car in the locality, depending on conditions ;)

Yeah I've seen this car a couple of times myself. Looks quite subtle until you get up close and you can see the camera in the back and the dashboard covered in kit. It's been through Normanton too a few times and up past pineapple hill so they may be Wakefield based.

There is a v70 estate hangs around near m62 A1 A64 areas,looks like a boggo standard volvo:thumbdwn::thumbdwn::thumbdwn::thumbdwn::thumbdwn:
