Alloy Wheel Pics

Featured Replies

Hi Folks

I thinking about changing the standard 18" alloys on my 06octy vrs i like the vw golf gti alloys the teledial type was wondering if anybody has any pics of a mk2 vrs with aforementioned wheels.

Thanks for taking time to read this i know its not the most riviting thread

Regards Whoosh:thumbup:

There's one on the romanian forum, a white one. There have been about two dozen guys begging the man to change back to the vrs wheels before he finally gave in.

Looks much better now.

you could photoshop them in order to get an idea of what it would look like. - just a thought

Stay with what you've got matey, or a different set.

Thats my 2 pence worth anyway.

Agree with Browny also

Looks AWFUL :(

No those Golf wheels don't look right.

I love those wheels on the Golf, but got to agree with the others here,, they just dont look right on the Octy

Going off topic here, but I think we've achieved the original goal of the thread and established the golf gti wheels look hideous on a VRS.

I'm going BBS next time. Super RS (polished, with basket in race blue), LM or RS GT. Just a question of finding the right set for the right price. Quite a mission! I was very tempted with black CH's but they're not different enough from what I've got now. I think if I'm going to go BBS, I've got to go the whole hog.

OMG! those Golf wheels look awful on the Octy, keep the Zeniths, or change to the FL wheels!

No, the FL wheels look kack as well. Quite like the BBS ones though...

I can't cope with the gti wheels on the vrs, with that arch gap. It makes me feel a bit sick every time I see it.

I'm not keen either - I should leave them on the Golf.

I'm pretty taken with these on ebay though

Firstly I agree I'm not keen on them either.

However I do like the alloys as indicated by the above link. I will shortly change my 15"steel wheels to 15" alloys somewhat similar to the ones indicated in the above link. My question is can I source genuine Skoda badges for the alloy insets? Not just stickers but actual genuine inserts?

If not then are the glue on badges any good?

Mate, what are saying, they're tidy, diamond cut or in anthracite, even better!

Golf wheels not good. The BBS RS GTs are rather nice though!

A Skoda dealer will sell the 4 proper inserts for about £27

A word of warning to people looking at buying wheels off ebay;

A mate of mine came very close to having a horrible accident due to "cheap" wheels he bought on ebay. Many of those sold are prone to buckling and cracking because of the crap material used and the fact that they are not crack tested or x-rayed after build. They are full of blow holes and are generally also more prone to galvanic corrosion.

If you are srious about a particular set of wheels, ask the seller what standards they are made to....

Ask if they are TUV, VIA, JWL or ISO approved......

I'll bet you any money that if its a dodgy dealer you won't get an answer

Oh and the tyres which many of them have fitted are worse than polo mints and you will fill your pants the first time you go around a corner in the wet!

Most OEM wheels are made by the likes of BBS, Speedline, OZ etc - all reputable companies. You pays your money and takes your choice but do remember, its not only your neck on the line,......

and for what its worth, I think the OEM 18's suit the car really well as do RS4 / RS6 styles but Golf GTI wheels look worse than awful.

Agreed! Skoda have ruined the FL mk2 with those manky wheels. They look like they came from Halfords.....

The same can be said for McLaren! The wheels on their new supercar are rank and cheap looking. Looks like they nicked them off a corsa :P

Agree. I dont like those wheels - on anything!
