VRS Cruise Control

Featured Replies

Just had my car fitted with cruise control and its great makes those long journeys on the motorway a joy now. Now have to decide what to buy next.

Leather.

Just out of interest, where did you have it fitted, and the cost? Im wanting mine doing soon as I think its a worthwhile addition!

You're looking at probably between £150 and £200 from an independent such as Unit 18 inclusive of parts, though I could be wrong and it could be low £100s.. I got mine on a special deal with a part/ex for my old fabric seat covers :)

I agree with Mike, get a leather retrim and make the interior of the car (where you spend all your time) a more pleasant place to be :)

I checked with my local Skoda garage, and they quoted £140 all in. They even offered to arrange a courtesy car as it would take a day or two!

Leather.

Agreed.

Cruise control is a must have option for future purchases once you've had it though.

My mate thinks Cruise control is pointless.... I could never work out his thinking on this, until it dawned on me..... he tail gates quite badly and so is always having to alter his speed.......... he's an idiot. We were behind a learner one day who was doing 23, so he rode their back bumper... I asked what on earth he thought it'd achieve... he replied "they've gotta learn"... Shame, he's a REALLY nice guy until he's behind the wheel.

completely agree though, all cars must have cruise from this Fab onwards, now I've had it!

And cruise control is best on diesel's because of all that torque

I had it in my 56 Octavia 2.0TDi elegance estate doing 10,000+ motorway miles in a year and loved it.

I really miss it now, and it's already on the wish list (shhhh, don't tell SWMBO)

Mind you, I also miss the wine bottle holders in the door pockets, the self dimming rear view mirror, the fantastic factory fitted stereo and Cd changer ...................

But on the other hand, heated seats are pretty unmissable once you have had them as well, especially now the early mornings are getting colder (once you get over the initial "OMFG I've wet myself reaction")

i agree a well worth option, perfect for those motorway runs, espically for getting to york to get the surgeons to do your seats!

It cost me £45 but that was with £50 quid taken off so would have been£100 I think that was from ingram ayr would love a leather interior but it's so damn expensive. Saying that I have spotted a private plate I want and I need someone who can lower it on the cheap got the springs but not the skills. And that will be that for this year I think
