Take it, it's a fabia?

Contis on the OCty are even worse on concrete roads.

I agree. I notice all Furby vRSs now come fitted with Continental SportContact2 tyres. Be interesting to know from owners of later cars if they're any quieter. I was intending to go over to Contis when my Michelins wear out...

Mine came with Conti SportContact II, which imho are superb. No doubt someone will disagree, but I like them.

cheers for the info carefree

do you do much travelling over different road surfaces ?

the mich's are fine over 90 percent of surfaces

but the rumble you get from the remainder is just deafening !!

we have to crank the old barry manilow cd right up to drown it out

I have changed to yokohama pararder 2 because I wore my michanlins out in 7 mounths. I have put two sets of frount yokohamas on in 6Mounths. they ware out faster but give great grip and I have not noticed to much noise.

I do travel on virtually every surface there is, from smooth tarmac to wet muddy roads to fine gravel (often when i am diverted from my usual route home from work) and so far I have no complaints....but then I dont claim to be an expert. All I know is that they are good for me.

I had the Conti SportContacts on my Focus and they were great, didn't have a high-wear rate, broke away progressively and were only really noisy on concrete roads - but isn't every tyre? Continental upgraded the design to the 2's so they can only be better... ;)

My Dad has the Primacys on his Furby vRS but he's never complained about them, I noticed my (nearly ready) Furby vRS has the SportContact 2's so I'm more than happy... :)

At the end of the day I suppose it's down to personal preference. We all have different opinions about different things and not everyone will agree. I will say though, that 'decent' tyres are much of a muchness and that they fare near enough the same. Obviously conti sport II's are better than cheapies from your local fast fit store, BUT do the same job as a Michelin of the same spec/price.

Thats what I think anyway......you can drive yourself mad thinking about things tooooooo much......a decent tyre is a decent tyre........

Now watch all the enthusiasts tear my 'tyre' theory apart.

Mine came with SportContact II too, no probs at all with them :)

I have Yokohama AVS dB on my audi. they give as much grip as the standard AVS (i.e. lots) and are designed to be quiet and comfortable. They really are a revelation, never thought they'd be as good as this.
