My 2008 octy vrs fuel flap states 98 ron super unleaded is to be used.

My 2006 states 98/95 and its run on 95

Its utter tosh that it cant run on 95, it clearly states you can and in the hand book it makes no mention of not all the time etc etc.

What I would say is that there is a world of difference between the quality of a supermarket 95 RON and a branded ( ie shell/BP/ESSO) 95RON

I would never run a car of mine on supermarket fuel knowing what I know. I feel this is the issue not the fact folk run ( quite correctly ) on 95 RON

If its mapped right it will run right

+1 all i do is run mine on Shell or equivalent. I would never fill up at a supermarket unless i was well and truely desparate! :giggle:

Dealer filled my car up with Tesco regular octaine super unleaded and do so for all petrol cars they demo & sell. TBH I can't see this being an issue, the timing will adjust for lower octaine and there is nothing that staes that mycar should only be run onhigh octain fuel. Many people who live in more rural areas probably wouldn't even have the option to be able to get high octain fuel.

I run mine strictly on V-Power and I managed to score the inside of cylinders 2 and 4 on my old engine eek
