Autoglym Extra Gloss Protection

A while back I posted about how good Megs NXT 2.0 Tech Wax was. Well as some people suggested the longevity wasn't that great, so thought I would try a new combination of detailing products. I washed and clayed the car, and then gave it an IPA wipe down to remove all old wax.

I then machine polished the car using AG SRP. this gave about 90% correction, and also filled the slightly deeper RDS and swirls. I then applied 2 coats of AG EGP, tricky stuff to work with as it's like water. I simply wiped it on with one of those disposable white cloths you get from Halfords, left it to cure for an hour, then wiped it off. Second coat applied the next day. Trick is not to apply any pressure when you apply EGP. I topped this off with NXT2.0 and a dozen washes later, it still looks spanking.

It looks like EGP locks in the filler in SRP, and they don't get washed out as fast.

I also seem to be getting less of those tiny little stone chips that plague race blue.

Seems like a nice combo with a super tough finish.

Yep SRP followed by EGP is an excellent & underrated combo..especially for the majority who don't have their paint corrected by machine.

I personally wouldn't bother with the NXT and just top up what you've done with however many layers of EGP take your fancy/can be bothered to do.

I used to use this combination and gave good results but the EGP is very messy, its 'too' liquid!!

I still use SRP but now finish/wax with AG HD wax, its easier to put on and seems more durable

I used to use EGP quite a bit but I could never get on with the curing time. I use Jetseal now which I find far more user friendly and still gives great depth of shine and durability.

Ive done the SRP followed a week later with EGP and my new Fabia is gleaming, great comination.

Oh, yes I did clean it in between;)
