Hi, I am the proud owner of a new (old style) octavia TDI 90. The car is in dark metalllic blue on 16" alloys.

The car is an import from malta and is listed on my documentation as a PD engine. I cannot see any reference on the skoda sites to a 90bph TDI PD, has anyone any ideas how to check if an engine is a PD?

Cheers

Leaon

yes

Welcome to the site...

You wouldn't happen to live in Accrington, and purchased the car from Motorpoint in Burnley perchance?

It's a TDi90 to the best of my knowledge, not a PD engine. Think I looked at that very car recently with my dad.... it's got a few "elegance" spec things on it if I recall correctly....

welcome!

there were no 90bhp PD's. they were the older pre-PD along with the 110.

the VAG PD's come in the flavours of 1.4 75bhp, 1.9 100, 105, 115,130,150bhp and new 2.0 140bhp.

i think that's right.

Sounds about right Ian. As you say there isnt such thing as a 90 PD, however my certificate of conformity lists it as a PD. I was just wondering if their was an obvious visable difference between PD and non PD units.

What does the V5 state?

(...and Alan couldn't remember if it was a 90, 110, 130 etc... tch! :D)

Still waiting for it from motorpoint, let you know when it turns up.

Have a look for the 3 letter engine code. You should find it on the side of the engine near the top. It's also on the sticker inside the front cover of the vehicle' Service Schedule (Record) booklet, and on a similar sticker on the boot floor under the carpet. Let us know what it is and we should be able to decode what spec engine is fitted. For example mine is a 110KW ARX, ie the 150bhp 1.8T petrol engine fitted to the Octavia 4X4.

The code is 66KW ALH - does this help?

Ignore the bit about accrington, forgot you moved to Lower Darwen, still there? Liking it?

66KW ~= 90 hp ... QED.
