I mentioned some time ago that my wife has been moaning about the lack of aircon, electric windows and remote CL on the Octy 1.6LX. Unlike my vRS we own the 1.6 out right. We have been thinking of replacing it with something smaller with better spec and better fuel efficiency.

I have read that there is an offer on on Fabia's at the moment. Does anyone have any experience of the 1.2 petrol or 1.4 TDi and can you still get the 1.9 Sdi and if so how does this compare with the 1.4TDi?

This could all be pure speculation as the wife always blows hot and cold when it come to big financial decisions.

The 1.4TDi's the one to go for...much better than the 1.9SDi, and 1.2. I also prefer it to the 1.9TDi, but I'm not going to get into that one again...

Was that the classic trim or the comfort trim? I suspect if air con and electric (front!) windows are the order of the day, William will be after comfort trim which is less taxi-like

What is Mrs William looking for in a car? Something that will just go back and forth to the shops, or something with a bit of go in it that's fun to drive?

She is looking for something that is decent to drive. She did not like the Feista she used to have (1.25 LX).

Definitely the 1.4 TDi over the 1.9 SDi. There really is no comparison. I'd also say the 1.4 over the 1.2 for the economy factor.
